I want my donuts back

Contact EA and tell them about your frustration.

I contacted them a week ago, nicely complaining about the server problems and how that may mean I wouldn't get the island. I wasn't asking for anything, just venting my frustration.

They gave me 15 donuts and told me they'd give me the Island if I didn't get it by the end of the event. (I got the Island on my own yesterday.)

Unfortunately, I really doubt they'll refund your donuts. You spent them on what you wanted. What if the event wasn't extended and you missed out on the island? At least you have the island now.

Your right. I'm just mad. I just didnt want to use donuts, but the time was almost over to get the island. I guess i just needed to vent. I will not be purchasing donuts ever again. If i dont get the prizes before the events are over than that is just too bad for me.

I was just venting. Im sure that i am not the only one who did this. Not expecting anything from EA. Just upset.

That sounds a bit better. Except the "too bad for you" part. It's just a game and they are just pixels. You can't even see two sides of anything you get! Fake!

We get so worked up over virtual reality stuff. Have to take a bite of a reality sandwich once in a while! It's totally OK if we don't get all the stuff. Totally OK.

Technically you have a valid gripe: the timer's were wrong and conflicting in event. This error could get you some donuts IF you ask for the call back option and get a sympathetic EA advisor. Give it a shot!

I was upset for spending real money to get that island. But, i am slowly getting over it.

Sorry to hear about your experience. If you'd like to contact EA, PM me and I can offer some tips for a more successful attempt. I posted in this section AND in the Bugs & Issues section when I last had a major problem, and found that by posting in these 2 sections of the forum, it got the attention of an EA rep that helped even more, so feel free to post in that other section too if you'd still like the donuts back. I just copied and pasted my post from one section to another, and expressed my feelings. Perhaps I got lucky that a rep was monitoring these boards, but I've heard others who have been contacted here.

All of us feel the need to vent and you're safe to do that wherever, whenever here. You are discussing the game, after all. and this is a very legitimate claim.

I know. Did you get my last edit? I understand the frustration. Now that you're calmer, you should go ahead and try your luck with the call back option. The techs were completely different than the chat techs when I last contacted each. Much more sympathetic.

They give our 15 pretty quick. Idk what you spent but it could offset the loss a little.

My replies here are much more supportive when the post is calm and rational vs. whiny. Same idea.

I don't agree with your statement. The fact that the OP trusted the in game counter, which everyone should be using to determine when the event is ending, and acted accordingly.
EA pulled what I consider to be a sneaky move by not changing the timer a week ago, thus avoiding this situation.

I think he was making a joke that the island isn't worth the 45 donuts in the first place, even if there wasn't an extension. I think. But yeah I wish EA would have extended the timer earlier, that was really lame.

Thank you guys. I tried to get ahold of EA but could not get through to anyone. Oh well. It was stupid on my part. You live you learn. Just wish they would have changed the timer sooner and not just a few hours before the event is over.

I agree that it sucks when this happens but this not the first time they have extended an event. Unfortunately, they seldom (never?) give advance warning so it's a gamble. I guessed wrong on my 2nd town during Thanksgiving and missed the last prize by about an hour so it can go both ways. You thought the item was worth buying and now you have it, so at least there's that. :?

that is exactly what i was thinking when i posted it!

go ahead and just do an image search for 'donuts'. holy crap. they ALL look so good. if i worked in a donut shop or any bakery i'd be big as a house.

my first job out of college was at a rental car company that delivered a dozen donuts to every commercial account, every Friday. i was the guy that delivered them. the trip usually involved eating about a dozen myself. i gained 25 lbs in 8 mos.
