I voted for the first Halloween only because no one else did.
No one voted for the first Xmas or V-day, either. I figured it was because no one thought those were the worst.
I think they're just old and forgotten. Christmas 2014 was hated at a time for the dreaded wheel. Look now! Not on the radar.
I presume you mean 2013. And yes, it was very hated at the time for the wheel. Clearly the event that came only a few months later has not been forgotten, though, so I don't think Xmas was forgotten, I think it was overshadowed.

...i suspect the designers of the event expected some backlash, as the dialogue of the game definitely indicated they were mocking the GAME MECHANICS of ****. The redundancy of the cycle of leveling up is what they were highlighting, and how redundant it is to level up yet go nowhere (ex: Marge's robe is 2" shorter, then 2" longer) THIS WAS THE POINT.

Very interesting. I think Neuroheart got it right in seeing the canon upgrades as a flubbed version of **** upgrades. No wonder the devs screwed up: they were trying to upgrade an upgrade system that was originally intended as a parody of another game's upgrade system.

I still find it funny that Easter is the worst Event. All and all it was a pretty solid event. If they had done the prize system better/different I could see it being one of the best events.

"If they didn't do it that terrible way and instead did it a better way it would have been awesome!"

    Uh...I guess?

Why don't we have a post where we search for the best event? That way, EA will know what we want, instead of us randomly * about what we don't want?

I was planning to do that once this one completed. But no one is stopping you from doing it.

I'd guess that statement isn't entirely accurate ;)

It is 100% accurate. (Unless someone is on the other end of the computer threatening death if leepierce starts such a thread, but I doubt that.)

That's not so controversial. I think Halloween 2013 would win.

Actually, not even this poll is so controversial. I get the feeling it was made to get the people complaining Christmas 2014 was the worst event to be quiet.

I was going more along the lines of "to overcome your fears, first you must overcome fear itself".
Or some other such mystic sounding phrase, implying that leepierce is the only person stopping leepierce from starting said thread.
Which given that he / she hasn't, implies that the one person who could stop leepierce from starting it, has done so :)

All of which is a long winded apology if you felt I was implying any kind of abuse of access rights or some such, which wasn't my intention :)

Not really. I ran a poll much like this back in September to determine how many people truly hated **** more than Easter, because there was a lot of hate for ****. (**** took second place.) As it was winding down, there was mention of the "most recent event" effect; that there would always be more hate for whatever was freshest in people's minds. So I said back then that I'd run the poll again in January to compare.

Mechanics are pretty important. You can have great content and terrible mechanics and no one will want to play your game. That's been true since the early days of video games.

Going back way before the early days of video games, you children have no idea of the rotten gimmick games of the 60's and 70's...

Mystery Date... Are you ready for your Mystery Date? Don't be late...
