Favorite Serious Simpsons Episodes

The movie where Marge taped over the wedding video leaving Homer. That was sad.

Which was the one with Mr. Bergstrom? That was a killer early episode. Maybe the first time the show had really gotten serious, or one of the first times.

    (Love Dustin Hoffman!)

my fav. serious episode is probably "Mother Simpson." i loved the Walt Whitman gag, Homer trying to impress his mom, Lisa finding her connection, Wiggum's backstory and Homer staring at the stars at the end.

ironically i hate the episode where she died and that was probably the last Simpsons episode i've watched.

Edit: yes, "Lisa's Substitute" was a very good episode. it's right up there.
