Too many great ideas in this thread to single any one out. A few of them are among my favorites in the game.

The favorite part of my town might still be the burning bush under the Flanders sprinkler. I put it there a few days into playing the game when there were few things one could do when decorating. I still remember the small, irrational joy I got from it. Since this is a pretty boring entry, here it is in hyper speed:
