If the mountains are west and the top of the map is north, the new land is to the east, or the right side of town. The bottom, or south, is the shore.

(Note: I'm 99% certain that within the continental United States, a mountain range is either to the west or the east of you.)

That's a weird way of seeing it. I would also say it's added to the bottom of the map. Just seems more natural to me to say it like that.

I don't see any to the far right.. I have some forest over there I was hoping to expand to the far right and don't see any land over there.. Is it a strip to the far right going top to bottom or is it going from East to West at the bottom of town?

I had just one piece remaining at 1.5 million which I was nearly going to buy yesterday! It's now dropped to 750,000! Very happy with some new land! Just need to start saving again now!

Not if you accept the convention that the top of a map is north and have ever lived around mountains. (Mountains cannot be north, thus cannot be the top, thus land opposite the mountains is not the bottom.)

I always thought of the Squidport being South and that the new land is considered East. I'll just say it's on the right side, though.

I noticed that with the new land, the game is running smoother. Silky smooth, actually. Previously, in my own town, it was just a little rough scrolling from time to time, but this seems to have completely gone away.

I think so....mine appears to have shifted a bit down ( which makes sense good cen the land was added at the bottom)
