Good luck Matt - don't let outdoor temps keep you from training, just get layered up and get out there, that's what puts you ahead of the rest. Get a plan and stick to it. If you don't have a legit plan yet google Hal Higdon, he's a well known marathoner and has a great beginners 13.1 training plan you could start with.
I do a handful of 5 and 10k's throughout the year and log around 35-40 miles a week depending on what race is coming up. If you need any motivation or pointers feel free to hit me up.
I aint eating anything milk related or avocados. Other than that, fine by me. :P
Not a fan of avocados, elian?
Nope. Never was. Not that i find them disgusting, it's just not my kind of food.
I hated avocado as a kid. No idea how my tastes changed so dramatically to like it but I totally get why one does not.
Congratulations Matt and Good Luck!
Seeing as you're already like, bring on the training, you are going to do fantastically.
Also as for the raw egg thing. I have no problem with it in cake batter, so long as it is combined with the right flavours sure! Not kale and avo though. Noooo ewwww.

Mmmmm cream pie is amazing! It's our state pie...
I'm a little sad that I know that.
Mine does. :P
I don't know what's going through your mind, I'm just talking about pies to eat. You're a sicko!
Good luck! 8)
