I planted my corn last night. With my luck though this will probably be a fruitless act.

As as a newbie it does hurt a bit as it cost my $9,000 to plant it, so if I store the farm I'll lose out on a chunk of money.

Lately I've only been planting Triffids there.

Is there a precedent for it or is it just speculation?

Did you know that Triffids only give you XP points, not cash? As a Newbie, I'm guessing you're still trying to make money? In general, the faster the task/crop, the more profit you'll make. So if you can, you should try to plant Tomacco as often as possible.

If the farm is needed during an event it will auto complete any crop already planted when you reach that part of the questline. Last year it was used to grow roses. I waited until I close to that part then planted corn. A 90 day crop planted and collected in 15 minutes. :D

Yes, I know that. I like the 500XP/day I get from there. Especially since I only have to deal with it twice a day.

I sort of hope this isn't true, as my wife MolzPink and I just planted corn last week in order for it to complete on her birthday at the end of April. But if it does happen, then we'll be okay with an early payout. And a new crop is always cool. Since I started right around this time last year, I've only been around for two seasonals - roses and carrots, plus the addition of GMO pomatoes.

I guess we could always replant after the event and go Witch Marge-crazy for a couple months to see if we can get it ready on time.

Yes there have been a precedent in the previous valentine event with planted stuff being autocompleted on event start so people could plant roses. Same happened i think it was last christmas i may be wrong. More then one year passed since but i remember the valentine one

I saw this suggestion last night too (on the Addicts website) and planted scorn as well

Worked out it will finish on May the Fifth. Assuming it's not auto-completed by an event, a few spells by Marge the Witch will get me some Jedi corn, so it's all good.

ETA: well I was going to correct a typo but it's made me smile

people don't bother with this right now if you want to continue earning money and xp with the farm.

wait until the event starts then plant your corn if you want. You can also wait for people that speed up the initial tasks to ask them if the farm is used during the event.

i am continuing with triffids over and over until i hear otherwise.
i can always store the farm to cancel that task if i need to so i can plan corn and get the high money and xp pay out.

... Especially if we all start insulting you for your decision to plant it. ;)
