TSTO is the only "tap and wait tap and wait tap and wait this game is so stupid i bet this will speed it up 1000$!!!!!!! eh ill just blame my kids on it" games i play. as for other games i play on android with toutch scree, all of wich need tapping including emulated games before toutch screen was invented, i play lots. i however do not play oter tap and wait tap and wait games (this includes the uber idk why popular clash of clans (only the ritch in RL win that thing, screw dat poop)

But I love the Simpsons. I l think Homer is a riot. And if I want more of him than the one occasional new show on Sunday night, this is where I have to go to get it.
Same holds true for Family Guy. I like Brian & Stewie. If I could get a daily dose of these characters anywhere else, I'd be all over it.
The town building is fun too, but only to a point because I am freemium.
But this isn't a town building game, it's a collection game, and the psychological manipulation is intentionally addictive. Which I don't like a bit. But the psychological manipulation is how EA makes money. Very similar to any peddler of addictive substances.
I remember being quite addicted in my first year. When I couldn't afford my habit, I remember the frustration, and had to break their grip on me. Technically my lack of funds prevented me from giving in to it, not "will power" or anything so special. But now I have much healthier perspective.
Yes I do play everyday, several times a day, but I've not spent more than one $10 gift card, and I don't lose sleep to complete events anymore. I don't carry my tablet around like it's my drug kit. I just try to enjoy it for what it is, a free time killer that allows me some artistic expression, ala Springfield.
Welcome to the forum, thanks for asking, happy tapping!!
I guess I could have just said THIS, too. I'm so wordy.
I play Family Guy, which does bring some good things to the tablet, but overall, TSTO is better.
In comparison, TSTO events are more varied... Even playing FG totally freemium, I'm already out of land... TSTO is much more balanced and interesting overall...
FG events are all the same with different skins, and only some new ideas finally brought to the table this current event.
And TSTO is the SIMPSONS!
Play FG for a while and you'll see how much better fleshed out a game TSTO is.
yea lol its addictive, but not like "OH MY GOD I
NEED MORE MONEY FOR THIS CRACK THEY CALL A GAME" if had a choice of 99$ in game crap or 99$ in TANGABLE REAL bud i would choose the bud.
TSTO is very funny. Both visually and script-wise.
It's well-designed. You can play it freemium (though how anyone can resist spider pig, I don't know) and get a really good game experience.
There's lots of new content. I started playing in September and this is the 4th major event.
They make it easy to add neighbors.
It's got a very helpful forum and other good sites to help with gameplay.
Not only is designing your town fun, it's impressive to see what other people have done with theirs.
How many other games make you laugh on a regular basis?
Its a slow start, and I haven't gotten passed it.
I mostly HATE that it's a tap game, but yet the task list for the characters are so big, and you have to slide instead of tap.
For Simpsons, you can just scroll through and give a task to each character fairly quickly. Just tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, done. Family Guy was annoying for that.
I also don't like the chance items through tasks things and having to grind tasks.
I guess I just don't like tasks/goals that much, but I love collecting unique items and building a city. I love the whole look of TSTO and how easy it is to decorate.
Funny thing is, I never watched Simpsons before this.
And I LOVE Family Guy, just hate the game.
Why TSTO? 2 main reasons:
1. It's The Simpson's, shouldn't need any reason after this, as well as their episode making fun of freemiums and than coming out with the most expensive freemium lol. I have played games debating on spending $5 for weeks to end up not paying; TSTO, would rather not admit how much I dropped in 7 months without a second thought.
2. This is my collector game. Some people collect coins, cards, mugs, license plates. I collevt intangible Simpson characters and buildings on an electronic device where I can make my own Springfield and never have to worry about losing(for the most part :P) or damaging pieces.
TSTO until the hamster wheels stop running EA TSTO server.

It's great that I can play at the speed that I like. And that I don't have to deal with other people if I don't want to and still enjoy everything (almost).
Tribez (stopped when game couldn't transfer off my old kindle)
Tribez and Castlez (the sequel to Tribez; did not play very long because I grew weary of having to collect twelve random items to upgrade a building)
Dragons: Rise of Berk (still playing, though they've introduced the mechanic of having to collect random things to get new dragons, rather than just letting me find an egg, so I may grow weary of it as well.)
Simcity Build it (played for awhile, haven't played lately because it takes too long to collect the random things to get land expansions. I'm noticing a pattern, here.)
Godus (played for awhile and just got bored.)
Bloons Monkey City (recently released, and so far I like it. Combines the tapping and waiting with tower defense.)
Family Guy Quest for Stuff (played for maybe a week, but collecting all the random stuff... Yeah. Also, aggressive preference for iOS, and basically requiring Facebook.)
None have held my interest as much as Tapped Out. I think it's the writing, to be honest. The storylines are highly entertaining. The variety of decoration is also kind of a big deal. Limited as the landscaping options can be, there's way more flexibility in design than in most similar games.
Haven't touched any of the other games, so I can't offer any comparisons.
1. Because it lets you be creative and others can see your creations and no one can destroy your town (unlike a lot of mobile device war/battle games)
2. This game is relaxing
3. It's a game based on the Simpsons...my favorite show since I was a young teen.
And...once you get started, you can't stop. Just like a potato chip.
