Decoration jealousy

Prev1
I have been playing for little over a year. No not jealous. It is just part of the game you have to deal with. There are a few items I wish I had but it doesn't really matter to me if I get them or not. :)

Regardless of what you have or have not, eventually some items return. You just need to chill. I started playing in 2012, but don't wrack my brains out wishing I had some items that others have. I don't always care to get every item available, and or, if they are still available at some other point, then I might add them, or pay with donuts. My town is filled up, and what I do have, I've made my town into a beautiful place.

The only building I missed is the Mapple store (Apple fanboy here  ). Odd that it hasn't returned since Homer still plays on his MyPad. He needs to upgrade to MyPad Air 2 soon in my town.

    My wish list...
Pumpkin patch (not the individual ones)
    Homers grave
    Bird bath
    Skeleton in the tree

Everything relating to pumpkins and the skeleton trees will be back for Halloween so if you play until then you will have a chance to get them, the birdbath was for Vday (I think) and all the Vday items were offered a few weeks ago as a tie in so you are most likely going to have to wait until next Vday, and Homers grave was for a tie in and will most likely never return.

I've been playing about 8mos. I see things in others' towns that I like and want. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say I'm "jealous" of them, but surely I have a wish list of retired items. Things that come to mind:

    Banana Dictatorship
    Blocko Store
    Duff Party Bus
    Duff Party Blimp
    Easter Pond
    Mapple Store
    Money Pool
    Nutcracker
    O'Flanagan's Pub
    Reindeer
    Wishing Well

I'm really hoping O'flanagan's and the Wishing Well are re-released this month, and the pond next. I've set aside donuts in the hopes they do.

I have one decoration I regret not getting, and that's the Lincoln Memorial. I have special memories associated with the RL Memorial in DC, the one time I got to visit there, so I really want this. Sadly, it was released within days of my start date and I didn't have $100k to spend back then. At that price, now, I could buy a dozen, lol. Sigh. Maybe next July they'll put it out again, though I'll have to cough up real-world money/donuts (which I will do).

Finally, the King Homer's Skyscraper is something that I've always wanted, and it has been re-issued during my tenure, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend 250 donuts for a decoration that doesn't buff percentage or earn money... Especially during an event with plenty of other premium choices. I dunno... Maybe next time.

What you are describing is part of the addictive quality engineered into the game.

I used to feel this way about the cool brown house, house of evil, and a couple other buildings I wanted.

But I used to be upset I couldn't be a premium player too. just not in my budget. Since then, frustration with the game mechanics (wheels of chance) broke its grip on me, and I started seeing the game as it is, a good time killer, like other phone games.

It's not a collection of rare priceless keepsakes. They are pixels that could vanish anytime EA closes the servers.

So try to reevaluate your perspective, maybe you will also realize that while the things you don't have seem cool, does it matter if it's in your town or your neighbor's town? Anytime I want to enjoy the animation of the escalator to nowhere, I just go to my neighbor Sandwedgeking and look at his excellent display. Good enough for me and it's free to visit anytime.

Of course if you plan to play premium, just keep an eye out as they recycle most of the game features that are limited release.

    Happy tapping!
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

Thank you all for your input. I think 'Jealousy' might have been the wrong word. I love decorating my town & my "jealousy" is more down to wishing I had those decorations to let me do the designs I want to do. But having said that, it's making me more creative with what I have at the moment. I know there are limited time items that I have that others may not have. I'm very much addicted & I do have a couple of premium items but I am careful what I buy (which is why I haven't paid for Bartmans cave) I tend to spend only on buildings/characters that I know from watching the shows so these tend to be older buildings/characters. Now I'm playing this game I have started watching the shows again & like seeing buildings I have in my town. Like today there was the one were Marge & Homer spice up their marriage in the mini golf course. The guilded truffle & the up up & buffet was in that too. I don't ever remember seeing the up up & buffet before even though I have seen that episode a couple of times.

Springfield Falls!!! (I believe that's what it's called.) I've been playing for over a year and haven't seen the re-release. It may never happen. But if it does, that's the ONE piece I NEED to have!! (It would complete me.)

Oh yes. I forgot that one. I've seen some amazing designs done with that.

Really great advice! There are lots of things I can't spend donuts on but I can always visit and make a neighbor's Twonicorn puke or something equally as fun! I'm hoping that after this event I can PM one of my neighbors and ask them to fire up the donut torture device. I wasn't able to achieve that and I've never seen it in action. I get over the "wish I had that" feeling pretty quick these days.

I think a lot of people have preferences for things that have meaning to them. I know for me that there are some items that I feel like I must have and others that I could care less about. I kind of pick them up as they come up. But I do think there are some items that, while they would be fun to have in my town, I can do without because I can't bring myself to buy the donuts or they just were before my time.

Not really any point in obsessing over something I can't have, but on the other hand it's a treat when they are re-offered and they were things that I would have liked to have (Come on, Mapple Store! :D )

Johnny Fiestas - as I didn't win it.

Mapple Store- started playing a few days after it went away.

All whacking Day items after Fort Sensible.

Tunnel of love and the Lovely Flower Cart - the Flower Cart was the only thing I needed to win to unlock the Tunnel.

That's all I can think of now.

There were a few items that I wanted this past Christmas but couldn't get. This was my first Christmas and all I kept winning were lights for my houses. I was hoping that some of items were going to be offered for donuts, but no luck. I guess I'll just have to wait until next Christmas and keep my fingers crossed. :)

There are a few things I especially want:

Sidekick Milhouse, had a short break when he was given away :(
    Mr. Plow
    Whacking day-stuffs and Stonecutters-stuff.

Yes, a little envious too! Been playing almost nine months, it's so much fun when I have time to browse through long-time players and see what I get to look forward to, maybe. I'm still enjoying having gotten Phineas Butterfat and Madame Chao's when they were re-released at Valentine's, as well as the Stonecutters, a little disappointed no money pool or that jewel chest thing, but oh well. Yay worthless pixels!

Top of my wishlist now is O'Flanagan's Pub. Banana Dictatorship and Johnny Fiesta (SO cute!!). Springfield Falls and Fort Sensible would be nice. Definitely a few more, but I can't recall them right now.

LOL! Is it terrible to say I don't care about this one? Please don't run me out of here. But I redeem myself by saying that I did show it to my hubby, Apple fanboy too, and he thought it was cool. He would have said exactly what you did about needing an upgrade.

    EDIT: Nighthawk Diner!!!
