The original GB is a tank. I had one fall off a moving vehicle onto a freeway and get hit by several cars. only had to rig up the battery door.

yea i wish they still made things like tanks. toobad everyone wants thin, and companys make that there advantage to make it cheap, DEMAND THICK! and you wont have crap breaking anymore. im tinkering with the software of the kindle i see something got corrupted for no reason, havent messed with the FW in a while but now i uninstalled candy soda crush saga, i think the permission com.king.candycrushsodasaga.StritzActivity had something to do with it as i went though into lucky patcher adbn saw only that game for the new update with the 6 free boosters update had that permission, i have a quarantined copy of it i thought big company like king were not sup[pose to break peaples devices? when i install it it corrupts my firmware and when i remove it ( i need to use root tools to remove it) it gose back to normal. so King.com is now corrupting peoples stuff? i relized soda candy crush was culprit as its what i last installed when my kindle started going out. i havent noticed any more problems after uninstalling, but i need to reinstall a system file that soda candy crush corrupted. :? :!:

ok well now restored that system file and google play is now not working, probaly going to have to tinker more UGH. also terria (from amazon) save file and world file was corrupted and now tryiing to load a backup of that. stupid soda saga.

I have a Kindle, too, and I purchased the extended warranty, as well.

If you've had it less than a year, CALL THEM NOW!!!

When I called, they replaced my entire Kindle with a new one. And then the customer service guy told me that I could only send it in/repair/or replace two more times.

If you've only used your extended warranty once, and you still have time before one year is up...

CALL THEM!! Before it's too late.

You might be pleasantly surprised. Fingers crossed!!
