if you tap the corner of the yellow signal it usually works without collecting the building money.

I have to agree with everything you've written. The game has come to a point that tapping is becoming more of a chore than actually something enjoyable. Mundane things like tapping every building to clear taxes, or every character to finish the tasks their on is taking way more time then I care to spend on it. I could use that time to visit friends, or finish redesigning different parts of my springfield.

Sadly there are some people who disagree with this sentiment, by clinging to the title being called "tapped out". I'm sure when the creators named the game "The Simpsons Tapped Out" they weren't referring to players tapping their fingers out, but instead using the touch screen controllability of the game in the title.

It seems like those die hard defenders of the game prefer to impose their own interpretations of the title to make the game only enjoyable to them and not others. I hope the developers see past that, and add features that address this issue some of us are having. There are plenty of things to tap in the game aside from collecting taxes and job money.

    Plus 1
my fingers hurt, we now have close to 200 characters to tap, plus buildings, plus event currency, plus , plus. It's gotten to an unreasonable amount of tapping for vets.

I see your point, and partially agree. Well, I suppose I agree. Others have suggested priority in clearing the Neighbor's tapped 'reporting' symbol before the money. That I do NOT agree with. I have three buildings in my town that I have not collected the radioactive symbol on for weeks, just so I can continue to enjoy the animation/illumination. But it's nice to collect the cash from them. If EA were to implement your idea, I would not have a problem, as I just wouldn't tap twice.

I love the BDH, Sequel Stop, and Asia De Cuba in all their glory so much that a few pies isn't worth collecting on them. There will be a looong time where they will be dormant coming up soon. I seriously wish I could keep them animated without the symbol hovering over them. But I do love to look at them regardless.

And big thanks to Barry; I had no idea Asia de Cuba lit up so nicely before you tapped it.

Legs and Louie have a task there, just so you know. ("Do private business in public" or something like that.)

I did not know that! Thanks! Maybe I'll go get my one pie now!

Are you tapping with the widest zoom view? That's what I usually do...

... but I've found it easier to tap these layered icons if I zoom in closer. The taps seem more accurate.

But I'm also tapping all the money signs and check books first, then going back around for the yellow lights. That seems much easier to let the cash float over to the corner before trying to tap what's under it.

Thanks for interpreting what I wrote. I needed that so much for those who don't understand!

I would love to go through every point I've mentioned and prove my side, but it clearly won't matter since it'll only reinforce your interpretations on this matter. So instead of that I'll just be be glad you got a smile out of reading something you don't agree with.

    Hope you enjoyed!

I agree. The title was not meant to refer to a ridiculous amount of tapping...it's that it's a touchscreen game. Everything involves tapping.

I get really annoyed that I want to collect money or a task yet it won't because a prior one is in midair or I accidentally tap something else.

The easiest thing is just add a Collect Button or at least make character tasks automatically bank when the time frame is over.

When it comes to freemium games I'm betting the bean counters equate time in game to increased revenue (in other words the more time a player spends in the game the more likely they are to spend real money or spend premium game currency (and thus become more likely to spend real money to replenish)

Im betting for this game they also equate taps to revenue so the more tapping, the more spending.

So while it makes sense from gameplay standpoint, if it doesnt increase the bottom line it probably aint happening....

I don't think that's the case. Enticing people to spend real money comes from seeing the premium content, which there is plenty of.

Having us tap away just doesn't seem like a viable way to get us to spend money. It's just monotonous action.

I'm a happy tapper but I do find it a tad overwhelming when logging on in the morning, especially during an event, rents, completed tasks, event currency which can involve two or three different tappable aspects.

I certainly agree the game has grown so much now a re-look at this from the developers in needed.

If they implemented an option to make money "auto collected" meaning if you tapped the rent icon it didn't even splash, but just went directly into your money that would help a LOT. Even though it is only 5 seconds, that can seem like an eternity when trying to clear your town.

While I'd prefer a collect all button, this would be a fair compromise. It would cut down on a LOT of lag too, since at least on my device, most of the lag kicks in when there's money on the ground.

I'd be more for turning the rents off during an event. Cash from buildings is so meager that it just gets in the way. Events should be about collecting the event currency, not collecting cash. If you want cash, assign your characters tasks, it's not like the majority of them generate event currency.

Thanks for interpreting what I wrote... it clearly won't matter since it'll only reinforce your interpretations on this matter.

    Merriam-Webster's "interpretation":
    tapped out
    adjective
    1 :out of money :broke
2 :spent, exhausted <tapped out after months on the road>

    dictionary.Com's "interpretation":
    tapped out
    adjective
out of money or another resources, such as energy

    urbandictionary's "interpretation":
    tapped out
    1.Out of money; penniless
    2.Tired, exhausted.
When 'tapped out' is used to describe a person, it means that the person has no more energy to spend of flow.
    1) I'm tapped out, so I can't go to the movies tonight. 2) After working all day, I was tapped out.

    idiomeanings "interpretation":
    tapped out
    (adjective) very tired, exhausted
    Example Sentence:
I have been working all day. I am so tapped out.

    A: Why arent you working?
B: I was up all night preparing for our presentation. Now, Im tapped out.

If you stay at the nightclub until 4 A.M you will be tapped out the next day.

SORRY, it's not MY interpretation that you are in conflict with. It's the ENGLISH LANGUAGE you are in conflict with.

    1. Your buildings must not be all crammed together like some of have them (Deity, I'll be so glad when I get far enough along to buy some more land and spread out!).

    2. You must have really small fingers, because even when I was playing on a full size iPad (borrowed - I have my own Mini now) I couldn't tap that accurately.

What is that supposed to mean? Where have I ever suggested I am better than anyone at anything?

Don't be insulting just because you can't think of anything relevant to say.

    That's completely uncalled for.

I didn't make the game. I don't establish rules. But I do take things as they are. If the game is titled "tapped out" it is clearly obvious they expect us to be frustrated with the amount of tapping during the big events.

I never said I like it this way or prefer it this way. I said I EXPECT it this way, because of the name of the game.

    You're just RUDE.

GOOD DAY TO YOU ALL. =(

I agree with the OP. I'm still relatively new, and I'm already starting to get "tapped out" even just by scrolling through all of my neighbors and characters. I'm not sure about the priority tapping because everyone has different priorities, but a "Collect all taxes" button would be awesome.

This is a good argument against them doing something like SimCity, where revenue is continually generated offline, but I think it has the opposite effect here. By making collection a chore, they're more likely to decrease the frequency of people logging in.

As Wildcat2k noted, people are more likely to spend money by seeing premium content. I would also argue that giving people more time to explore neighbors or design their towns would also increase likelyhood of spending money.

Let's say someone has 30 minutes per day that they can give the game. Are they more likely to cough up donuts if they need to spend all 30 minutes doing monotonous "maintenance tapping" every time, or if they can get that out of the way in 10-15 minutes and then just play with the game for the remainder?
