I'm not sure that would be a proper use of our power.

However since it's my thread it's well within my power to do so

I think I would have stored Brandine to get her freed up if I didn't have enough donuts.

Then you would have missed out on month of money earning, at least $30,000. Some of us still need every dollar we can get because we're still working through the levels/buildings, land buying etc. EA encouraged us to start the 90-day task (as it's part of Brandine's quest line); they should offer some compensation if now they are making us choose between the kid or the beer stack.

I see your point. I am at level 50 so the 30,000 dollars is a small amount. I would think if people bought Brandine that they should have some cash on hand. Also, getting the stack of beer barrels is a limited time offer but the buildings and land will always be available. I am currently low on donuts but like everyone else, we grind away to earns more for something we want. I still want Frink's lab but there always something limited buy offer that steer me away to save enough donuts.

Well you can add me to this group. :(
I added my "me too" and I hope it makes a difference. This is really frustrating. The options of restarting her pregnancy task or using donuts to rush it both stink. I waited a long time to get Brandine and I now have a lot of time invested into her pregnancy. I know in the grand scheme of real life this is not a big deal but I come on to this place to get a little break from real life so I like things done the way I set them up lol.

I have two questions: how does this whole quest line work for people who don't even have Brandine? And also when is this quest line scheduled to end?

To address the why isn't EA consistent on solutions question.......
We all work on the thought that they find a known issue that is recieving many complaints and come up with a mass solution. They do not. Next week they will still have advisors who haven't even heard of this yet- no emails get sent to notify them and assign a solution. It's a call by call game. Sometimes you get the right person and they use their limited ability to help......... Keeping in mind if more than 100 donuts are needed to resolve the issue- the first advisor you talk to can't do it- they will have to pass you to game play or another unit to resolve....... Yes, some of them won't get the problem your having, it may take many, many calls, emails, chats........I had to complain to the BBB to resolve islandgate........
The simple answer of "we arent giving donuts for this, other players are lying" is quite common. Expect this answer- be prepared to screen shot proofs of others getting compensation. This is a fallback line they are trained with- EA wants to make $$$ they aren't willingly going to admit handing donuts out for things- they get more complaints with donut expectations that way, so they will say no almost everytime. And no calling us liars is not good business.
A little on the planning that has caused this issue- yes, brandine was rereleased last month...... And they would have already had this event planning and in the works, so they knew if you have her, they were using her............. Beyond that
the tasks getting in eachothers way probably didn't occur to them....... The designers of this game don't play it. The play to test game mechanics, but they likely are not "players" so until the complaint to started rolling- they most likely didn't think of it. Same with advisors, if you connect with the new call center in Houston- they have made an effort to hire people who actually play, and I tend to get better complaint resolution, they actually get the issue....... But most people we contact with, don't play our game....... So when complaining, make sure to be nice, explain well, make the issue clear. I've gone rounds with advisors who don't even get the complaint, so how could they help? Keep trying, explain again
make it clear or ask for a transfer to someone else. BE NICE!!!

Good luck all. Lol, I have 30ish tickets with EA for this game over the last year, I feel like I'm a talking to them guru sometimes. Take or leave my comments, but I do deal with them a lot, and these are some of the tidbits I've learned.

I used donuts to speed up the Spuckler birthin'. I wish I'd seen this thread before I did. :(

I also added a "Me too" in the other thread.

Related, it's also kinda annoying that people receive different types of responses when contacting EA.

Some people contact EA once and get handful of donuts.
Some people contact EA once and get nothing.
Some people have the time and desire to contact EA again and again until they get some donuts.

There's no consistency with how the rep replies to the same issue. It's like a scratch-off ticket.

An option you left off: EA can imply that you are attempting to scam donuts. From an email response I received after writing about losing the random single donuts that we'd get from the elf tunnel door during x-mas:

"As a onetime customer service courtesy, I am ready to credit your 15 Donuts on your account. But please note that any further request for such issue will not be entertained in the future."

Nice way to treat premium players. Or anyone, really. They went on to tell me that I was probably spending donuts without realizing it and should turn on donut spend confirm. As if I'm a total idiot.

Add me to the group. This is so ridiculous and a slap in the face for those who purchased Brandine & wanting to grow the Spuckler family :x

There is no way I am speeding this pregnancy up. All those who spent dounuts to speed this up for the mini holiday event.....you just spent 20+ donuts on a FREE gift item. Unacceptable. Hopefully this gets a fix.

I saw LPT mentioning somewhere that we have time to finish the Patrick update until 23rd or 24th of April.

Can someone confirm this? i dont want to wait for a potentially never happening fix and finally end up with nothing. I'd rather loose 30days on Brandines task than the premium item.

I've been extremely loyal to EA. I've been playing since almost the very start of this game and I have spent plenty of money on donuts in the past. I'm not a complainer in the sense that even when I'm really frustrated about something, I do not come to the boards and trash EA or cause a huge stink. But right now I have to say I'm extremely disappointed in EA and I think they've taken serious advantage of their good paying customers.

People who don't own Brandine can breeze right through this latest quest line. However, knowing that a great deal of us excitedly purchased her only a month ago, they added her to the task list for those players who have her?? Come on. They aren't idiots. They know full well the first thing that we are doing is having her birth the first Spuckler which puts us in the situation of having to spend 20+ donuts to speed up her task to finish the Saint Patrick's quest. Yes, you can opt to store her and start the birthing task over later, but why should you have to do that and lose almost 1/3 of the time you've already put into it??

I've decided to just skip the Saint. Patrick's tasks at this point. It's just not worth it to me. I'm not spending the donuts and I'm not storing my Brandine. So I'll lose out on the beer kegs or whatever they are.

Thanks, EA. I never before felt like you were taking advantage by pushing players to spend donuts/money.....until now.
As a longtime and loyal player I have to say I feel very disappointed and let down because I don't think you're dumb enough to have set this up without realizing the conflicts it would cause your paying customers. Lame. :x

I could spend the 21 donuts on white fences and wind up with a higher multiplier than the free gift (which doesn't really work in my town anyway so I'd wind up hiding it) ... I'm a little annoyed with EA and the lack of storyline quests in the main event and don't really think rewarding them is worthwhile.

Was the 20 donut gift their incentive to just speed up the birth task for this quest?

If that were the case then they should have only given the donuts to those of us that bought Brandine this past Valentine's Day. Otherwise they are still rewarding the people that didn't buy her and penalizing those of us that did.

I spoke to EA and this was their response:

"*. Patrick's day Quest, As per the details and my specialist consultation of The Simpsons Tapped Out game the information for you is we are aware of this situation and have reported it to the Game designer studio, In this case hopefully we will listen some good news regarding it as the game developers are working on it."

I tried a live chat, and the response was basically "too bad." Lame.

I didn't ask for donuts or anything, but I told them what I could not do: throw away the month already invested in this or throw away my donuts which I am saving for something.
