I am so over all these threads. It'd be nice if the mods could consolidate these brandine threads for everyone to commiserate together and whine about how unfair EA is for creating an awesome limited time character with great visual tasks that didnt meet their expectations.

Annathewicked, I do agree that there are definitely situations in which the customer is not always right. There are definitely those who will jump to take advantage of a company that makes a mistake or sue a business over a typo in an ad or make a big stink over something trivial. So, yes, there are certainly times when the customer is simply being greedy or a jerk or taking advantage of a situation.

That being said, there are times that a company needs to step back and see that if there are dozens or hundreds of unhappy customers, perhaps the customers ARE right. In this case, I think EA needs to recognize that a LOT of customers....PAYING customers....are unhappy and frustrated. The fact that they haven't made any sort of statement or addressed it, and that their customer service is telling every caller/emailer something completely different is kinda lame.

Is this Brandine issue trivial in the grand scheme of real life? Yeah, it is. Will life go on if EA does nothing to remedy it? Yep, it will. But customer service is VERY important and in cases where the customer IS right, it stinks when so many voices are being unheard and unanswered. Lack of customer service is lame.

Agreed. It makes tapping less fun to know others are agitated!

Am I missing something? I paid the donuts to speed up her delivery task. I don't see the kid anywhere. I checked the character inventory and nothing is there?

This stunt guaranteed that I won't ever buy donuts for this game.

So you have to restart a quest to get a free prize in another quest?

Sacrifice a 1/3 of a 90 day timer, or sacrifice the free prize, a decoration of beer kegs??

    Talk about first world problems...

...oh yes, this definitely sounds intentionally engineered by the largest electronic game company in the world. They sure have you by the Munchkins now.

Their... DEVIOSITY knows no bounds! You should quit. That will teach them!

    Deviosity?

I like it! Adding to my dictionary of weird made-up words...nnnnnnow!

The beer stack is ugly so I don't care and will keep the 20 donuts for something I like instead of speeding brandine up

I don't follow... lost wages and XP? This is truly making a mountain out of a molehill.

Yes, if we had had Brandine doing 24h (or shorter) tasks every day since we got her a month ago we would have had $30k+ and a bunch of XP. Follow?

And no one is advocating protesting EA or any such craziness; we just like to bring to light poor game design that somewhat screws paying customers.

Unless you don't care about donuts the do it. I would just store her to get the prize. Not really worth speeding up because the smucklers don't offer much but $$

Just store it and get your free prize. So It will take a little bit longer to have a Spuckler. You will still be playing long after that. Don't over think it. Be glad you CAN store her at all. It's convenience!
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

You know what, that's exactly what I'm going to do! Thank you for making me see the light of day!

fwiw, I finally contacted EA about this issue, I just wanted to see if they were doing anything to resolve it. I wasn't demanding donuts, I just wanted to throw my voice on the pile of people affected by this issue.

Initially the rep just said "Okay no worries I request you to put the character back to the inventory and then you will be able to use the character in the current quest". I then had to explain that I knew that was an option (and even listed it as an option in my text prior to that response). Eventually I think he "got it".

Here's the last part of the chat in which they kinda just wanted to get rid of me and move on:

EArep: Yes I know we are getting many issues related to this.
EArep: What I can do for you is add 15 donuts to your account for the inconvenience caused.
me: So EA will not be providing any sort of fix?
    me: Thanks I guess.
EArep: Yeah as the developers team will be fixing this issue as soon as possible.
me: Imagine this scenario: I store her, complete the * Patrick's Day quest, re-start her 90 day quest, and then 2 months from now, you guys force people her use her for another task. We'd be right back at the same place - having to store or rush, etc.
me: That is why I am hoping eventually our voices are heard about this matter.
    you: Ok
me: Yes I understand that I assure you this issue will be foxed as soon as possible.
    me: Ok, thank you.
    EArep: Your welcome.

I swore to myself I was staying out of this thread but I got an idea while reading this and it goes beyond Brandine. it would be nice if all characters had a pause task button. Especially Lisa and Homer since you have no option to store them. Only one task can be paused at at a time and resumed when ever the player liked. No harm, no foul, no losing anything just pause. On Pause another task can be selected.

This makes too much sense to be implemented.
