Have you updated, 4junk? Because the revised box doesn't give out newspaper dispensers that I know of.

Ohhhh, so apparently I should have waited for the update. There's even dialog in the game presenting it. I guess I botched that up.

Well, a free box IS a nice consolation. And inside it? 30 donuts! Not a blue haired guy or any other premium feature, but still a nice prize. So nice I'll even give it another try.

What do I get this time? A bomb shelter.

12 donuts spent today, on a dispenser and bomb shelter. Two things I already had extra of in my inventory.
How can I justify spending another 6 to try again? I'm convinced I will get another prize I don't need.

    Thank you very little, EA.
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

    ...

    Thank you very little, EA.
    Sour grapes.

I got a bomb shelter for my free box, already had two.

2nd box - Lard Lad, already have one, but nice!

    3rd - billboard, needed that.

    4th - _onda, have one.

    5th - 10 donuts!

6th - news van, have one, but 2% multiplayer.

7th - tire fire! That's the one I really wanted, and was just recently considering buying it.

I quit there, since that's all of it for me. I already have all the characters. My wife scored Blue Haired Lawyer on her 2nd box, tho.

So that's a total of 26 donuts for me, and I'm quite happy. The tire yard alone is 40 donuts, so basically I saved 14 donuts, and got more cool stuff to boot! Thank you very much, EA!

Also, you guys do know that these Mystery Box prizes are only available until the event is over, right? Then it's back to parking lots and newspaper dispensers.

I didn't need anything from the boxes, but opened a few just to see what would drop. Got 2 Lard Lad Donuts and 1 Bomb Shelter.

    1. Lard Lad Doughnuts (this is from my free)
    2. 10 doughnuts (this is from my weekly combo)
    3. Kearney

So in the end I got Johnny Fiestas the building which literally tormented me last year because it was my primary color, four doughnuts, a premium building, and a premium character. I really want to buy more but I know my luck ends here so I am going to wait a week instead.

I landed on my mystery box for the continuous days of play and got the tyre fire. I then did the dialogue and got the channel 6 news van so not too bad for my first 2! And after getting a few spare donuts in the superhero event I might treat myself to a couple more and see [=

sounds like those of us who already bought Blue Haired Lawyer get punished severely! unless there is a mystery box with 120 donuts in it
    same with lard lad donuts

the lesson - don't buy premium items because they'll end up being free or discounted anyway

So after reading all this awfulness and not really happy with my first mystery box, I bought my first mystery box ever. I never wanted to do that before. 10 donuts. Pretty happy. Not sure I want to test my luck but it's very promising. I get my weekly mystery box tomorrow 8)

I got Kearney, BHL, lard lad, 10 donuts, 30 donuts, 2 billboard, 2 shelters and 2 ponds.

    Am really happy!

edit: I wanted to leave it at that, but it is so addictive! Landed another 30 donuts and rhe car. I am really stopping now. Iam back to 143 donuts, which I originally was. So I got a lot of free stuff. I hope I can resist temptation and wait for the free boxes.

I think you are right. I didn't by have them yet, but I can imagine that people that bought them before are not really happy about it.

So I just updated my Springfield #2, And I got the dialogue between Mr Burns and Smithers about the "New Mystery Box" and then they gave me a FREE Mystery Box.. But when I updated my Springfield #1 about 12 hours ago, I did see that there was the NEW Mystery Box in the shop (For 6 Donuts), BUT I had no dialogue between Mr Burns and Smithers, and was not offered a FREE Mystery Box.. Was everyone supposed to be offered a FREE Mystery Box?? Just confused, but ehh it's all good! Oops.. I guess I should have read A FEWWW more posts before I posted.. Mr Burns is busy waving at people to come join his Eyes Wide Shut party at the moment, So I see the dialogue can't be triggered yet!

    Paid
    News Van
    Minnow Pond
    10 donuts
    Lard Lad Donuts

Something I noticed. From Christmas 2014 I had the lights for LLD and CCL. Now both options have vanished from my inventory and also my LLD has no option to be decorated for Christmas :(

As someone who won the LardLadDonuts and had the skin in inventory, build the LLD then in your inventory click on the skin (it was under either house submenu or buildings submenu) then you should be able to toggle the skin

    Freebie News Van
first purchase. (with 6 friend donuts earned since superheroes ended) 30 donuts (I already had SVT and Kearney)
then with 24 of those earned donuts I got minnow pond, Chalmers Onda, LLD and the Blue Haired Lawyer so I basically spent nothing :)

Yes, I found it after several tries. This inventory is a real pain sometimes...
