True that LPNintendoITA but I did like the shadows. Maybe not so much the writing but oh well. :?

I just noticed that! I'm not sure if anyone else did but I thought I'd just say it anyway. :)

P.S. I actually liked them too...

I did the app store update and the shadowing is still in my town. But everything else is back to normal.

    Very strange.

    Really?

    Give me it!

Aww, my game is updating right now, hoped that it was staying. I really liked it.

That looks like the original normal shadowing, the comic book style was much darker.

Here you go, just took this screen as I'm on android and no update for me yet

They forgot to shade the Valentine's Trees, which was weird because they even shaded the First Christmas Tree. So now my trees look normal.

Here you go Maxim. Fresh off my town.

That does appear to be what mine looks like... As devilhunt pointed out, it used to be much darker. However, I do like that design!

I'm already missing the shadows. Pity they didn't decide to keep those.

I expected it to be removed, but I thought it looked really good while it lasted. I'd be happy having it back again.

I didn't even notice it was gone.

I did like the higher contrast though. The comic book styling was the best part of that event. I even appreciated the white border around the edge of the screen simulating a comic book cel. And the music. Well done, Gracie art designers!

I especially liked the way the large-shrubs looked in the comic book mode. The darker shadows beneath them made the horizontal "joints" a lot less obvious. They didn't look so blocky during the event. Especially in one spot where I have them stacked/3D they were looking really cool in the comic book mode.

Sigh. (No biggie. Just a bit sad.)

I agree! I guess we should just pretend we never got it!
