The return of the "unsocial" social event

Prev13
I do agree that this event doesn't really encourage neighbor visiting, but you don't receive any direct benefit for neighbors tapping on your corn during visits, so I'm not sure I understand your complaint. Mutant seed distribution could be an issue, maybe, but with so few of those to give out to begin with, it's not like tons of neighbors are receiving them anyway.

That is the entire complaint. The event structure, so that it is not a direct benefit. It would be better, I agree, if we had more encouragement to visit all of our neighbors, even if it was rather small. I wish they would have changed the set up, so that we get 10 spades or trowels on the first 30 actions, 5 for the next 30, and so on, like it was during the Super Hero event. Even with only 1 spade per tap, it would be more social.

that's done by ea so people don't get stuff too quicly and don't spend some donuts probably to get more stuff.
also they put a cap cause some people deleted friends and added new ones continuously so they could get as many as they could since new friends would mean the timer is not set on new friends. add - visit - get stuff - delete - add new - repeat. now you can't cause after 30 visits, regardless of who you visit, you get nothin

Hmmm. I read his complaint as we only get 90 spades so only the first handful of neighbors are getting visits. Even still, why does it matter if you visit the same 30 neighbors in this event since the neighbors themselves see no real benefit.

P.S. I'm not saying this is a great set up. I like the idea that if I visit a neighbor, they get something in return for my having visited them.

I can understand that. But I thought they still put a cap on the 100 friend visits per day in the Super Hero Event. After you reached there was a message that said something like "You're a Social Butterfly. You have maximized your friend actions for the day". I know that is not exactly what it said, but anyway, the point is that it still prevented people from continuously adding and dropping friends I thought.

I don't even really do neighbor visits, tbh, except to drop seeds. The reward for this event is simply too small.

I am still visiting neighbours daily and I wish the seeds were more plentiful so I could drop more. I reciprocate as best I can.

I am averaging three fat green mutant guys to drop in friends' towns. Three per day. That's what I have to give out to over 80 friends. Three.

Whichever three friends I drop those two are the ONLY three friends who know I even visited. The other 77 have no way of knowing. No handshakes with my name floating up, etc.

NOTE: I'm RECEIVING from friends an average of about 10 fat green mutant guys. I often wonder whether that's because my name begins with "A" and when they get to my town they happen to still have mutants available to drop.

This is about the LEAST social event I can recall. If we want to talk to our neighbors, we need to do it in shrubs and flowers. :(

It's their strategy of trying to get you to buy the seeds. It's ok to buy a few seeds here and there, but then you'd have to purchase more donuts just to get the limited items when offered. It's alright to buy a few seeds, (if it's affordable to the player for dropping in friends towns, but I understand that people are fist clenching for other items that they want when it becomes available. Neighbors drop when and what they can. I don't expect anyone of my neighbors to just over stretch because most of them are on point for getting the prizes by just grinding it out. They may be tired with heavy lids like me :)

They did the same thing in THOH 2014. First 30 friends give you currency, then nothing.

I really liked what they did with the Superheroes event - you earned part of the event currency by visiting. WAY TOO MUCH, since most of us had gobs of telephones left over, but still...

Anyway, if you don't visit all your friends every day you're losing out on the chance for bonus donuts. I got 3 yesterday (in my #2 town) and 1 in both of my towns today. Inching closer and closer to my next premium purchase...

I'm still visiting friends each day. I figured every trowel counts at the moment.
Just wish I had more seeds to dish out. Getting about 2-3 per day from tapping walking corns.

I kinda like it this way. I am well on track with my shovels and won't need the extra ones from my neighbours. That way I can relax a bit more and don't have to visit daily.

i prefer events that don't really need much neighbour visiting, it allows you to complete it at your own pace and doesn't force you to visit 30-100 or however many neighbours you have each day which can take quite a while (20-30 minutes at least)

    That makes sense!

P.s. I may have added capital letters and more punctuation into your quote when quoting you.

I really don't mind that I only get 90 friend actions a day. I still visit all of them anyway in the hopes of getting donuts. I usually get 1-3 every day. A few weeks back, I got 1 each in 5 consecutive towns! The thing I do mind is how few of the seeds I get. I try my best to spread them out and especially to return the favor to all neighbors who leave them in my town. However, if they don't find the mutant seedlings within 4 hours of my dropping them, they never even know I was there! :(

Thanks for the ones you've dropped on me! And thanks to all others who have dropped them on me.

Since the dropping of seeds is independent of visits, I use the ability to visit a friend by clicking on their name in the leader board. Hence it does not matter what their name begins with. And I drop the seeds on them when I have some to drop. And I drop them on friends that drop them on me, for the most part.

I visit all my friends that I have not hidden. I hid some because they are not playing right now.

What is worse, is that it seems they have tampered with the drop rate for donuts as well! Before this update, i would get 2 to 6 donuts per 100 friends visist (so 300 taps). I have gone 7 days (7 x 100 x 3) or 2100 taps with NO DONUTS! This cannot be luck! it appears to be direct tampering from EA on premium game currency. So really, no other reason to go beyond 30 friends :(

I'm still getting at least 2 donuts per 100 neighbors...7 days seems like a pretty long time without receiving any!

Tell me about it! 2 per is acceptable, but 0 for 2100 isnt. The more they tinker with the game, the less enjoyable it is. This same thing has been happening to other players i know, though they have half the friends i care to maintain, so i thought it was the odds.. but 0/2100 when i was routinely getting minimum 2/300... somethings wrong
