I also want to rant! About those neighbours who delete you just because you vandalized their town! It's part of the game and they can just add training walls so they don't lose star rating but no they decide to delete you instead!
A )training walls your neighbors believe they are doing you a favor and giving you a payout on a building that otherwise doesn't earn
C)if it still bothers you, find neighbors on a no-tag forum which can be found at another TSTO fan website (but I can tell you from experience that is not guaranteed.)
Your best bet is to buy and hide lots of training walls behind buildings. I did and my town is now pretty much bullet proof
There is no other solution to this other than hiding some training walls behind buildings. Check your ratings each time you add one and you will find the perfect level. It is easier to do this while your star rating is sill damaged.
1. Vandalizing gives you payouts for buildings that don't normally earn money, which is awesome for you.
2. A tricky person can tap up to 6 buildings in a neighbor's SF rather than 3 by vandalizing (two regular buildings plus the 4 graffiti-able buildings), which is awesome for them and also you because of point #1.
3. Building a bunch of training walls will prevent any amount of vandalizing from having any effect on your Righteousness rating, so it doesn't matter what they do.
4. If you still don't want it you can always unfriend anyone doing it. With the "add me" thread, it's absurdly easy to get back up to 100 neighbors if you so desire.
WHYI feel like people do it on purpose (esp when the same person taps Moe's, Springfield Elementary, and City Hall).
Likely they are. There is an ongoing glitch that allows extra taps if your graffiti buildings are close enough together. You tap a couple of non graffiti buildings and then tap as many spray cans as you can before the third tap collects. It they are close and you move quickly you can get up to 6 taps in one town.
I also have neighbors who vandalize me from time to time but I don't mind because I have lots of training walls hidden behind buildings. My rating doesn't change at all. Have you tried that?
Sometimes I vandalize too, for these reasons:
1. There is nothing else to tap
2. They never ever visit
3. Revenge! (That is if I can remember who they are)
I graffiti all the time. It gives the neighbor money from a building that is otherwise useless. I've been doing this for over a year. I figure a low-level player needs every penny, and also has fewer buildings for visitors to tap, and that most high-level players know to hide some training walls.
Maybe you didn't know about the training walls?
USA/UK Race To Throw Country Into Utter Chaos = TOO CLOSE TO CALL
My righteousness took a huge nosedive after the recent update. It went from 5 stars to just half a star. I had to put all my 20 of my training walls back in my town and it still wasn't enough. I bought some more and eventually, it went back up. It's frustrating, but it works.
As said the recent glitch gives more pontential for donuts. Also i think some people think you have a better chance for donuts from grafitti. Personally i like it meaning if i get grafitti since it means someone was wandering around my town. I have a bunch of brown houses near my landing zone so they can get in and out. Which i feel is neighbors friendly.
Hopefully it wasn't me. I generally will not tag buildings unless there is nothing left to tap or unless I happen to remember that they tagged me. I don't really pay attention to my stars for the most part. I'll make a mental note that you prefer not to be tagged.
Bottom line: I like my Springfield nice with its 5-star rating!!!
And yet, instead of doing some research, or asking nicely how to keep your righteousness from falling, you scream about people who are actually being good neighbors by giving you a payout from a building that otherwise doesn't pay out. Also, cleaning graffiti raises righteousness, so they're giving you the opportunity to boost that rating.
Good luck with all that.

could you meet me over in the we need more dirt/ground thread and explain?

Dear Deana, in real life vandalizing is a no no. This is a game, by being vandalized you get XP and in game $ dollars for buildings that don't produce any. When you wash the graffiti you get righteous points. So all is to the good.
I bet the devs. have a good laugh at people with a problem with 'vandalizing'.
I got no training walls and have five stars, it only goes down when I don't visit my neighbors regularly not when they "vandalize" my town (I welcome them!)
And just in case anyone of my neighbors sees this: I vandalize as much as I can, so please take revenge or delete me altogether.
Funny that fans of a show/game like The Simpsons don't seem to have a sense of humor. Sad.
I not only vandalize but I have often taken advantage of muti-vandalize option. What's worse my kids often clear my neighbors and they are tickled pink by vandalizing. (I just keep looking better, huh)
Not only that!
I recently got a message from one of my neighbors that I dropped his righteousness down to half a star. (He was really nice about it considering.) He took the time to message me about it. I'm working on breaking the habit (pink belly the kids?)...but then we did it just today...maybe even him...
Looking back, neighbors have dropped me some probably because of this.
But here's the weird thing...
I recently asked about neighbor etiquette. I learned quite a bit about how it works. There was little negativity towards vandalizing. I can't tell if the anti vandalize folks just don't want to be a wet blanket or if you are a minority. Either way, it really looks like player style. It's worth finding good neighbors.
By sheer whim I put up a bunch of training walls around my temple (with trees in front of the doors) and since I was late to the whole neighbor thing I never knew about vandalizing effecting righteousness.
Here's what I think you should do...because you totally wanted to know ^_^
1. Message those like me or drop them
2. Consider training walls
3. Get anti vandalizing neighbors (start a thread if needed)
Bottom line: I like my Springfield nice with its 5-star rating!!!

As mentioned in above replies, I thought I was doing my neighbours a favour too as I'm sure we all need to get our cash levels up after the latest event. For my 83 neighbours added from this forum - please feel free to delete me if you don't like it as I now have an addiction for vandalising on my rounds ;-)

I dont think its realistic to expect neighbors not to vandalize. Its part of the game. Just be glad they visit

But seriously Deana, The training wall method works!
