Cecil carrying a heart sign, what task is that?

I would also like to know. When I send him on his 1 hour or 24 hour task, he just walks around doing nothing. His other tasks work fine. All but 2 of his tasks are visual, but it must be the 1 hour or the 24 hour.

Same here. Wish he'd do something other than walk around. Wonder why it's working in some towns but not others.

It is the 24 hour task run for mayor. I don't seem to have any issues with Cecil's tasks. Right now I have him on the 4 hour practice stand-up. He is in front of the opera house dressed as a clown performing.

It seems like it should be the 24-hour Run for Mayor task. However, mine just walks around. Are you saying that for some people it works?

If I remember correctly wasn't the heart sign animation used when Cecil "made amends with Springfielders" at the very beginning of the event? I haven't seen the animation since though.

You may be correct. I just put Cecil on the 24 hour task and he is just walking around.

It could just be the animation EA set Cecil to do in a town when you visit. I've noticed that characters don't do the same task they are set to do when you visit another town. A lot of times I set my characters to 4 hour tasks and when i visit my main town using a feeder town, my characters are doing a 12hr task.

I wonder ... By any chance was the 4 hour task an indoor one? If so, then EA randomly assigns an outdoor task for that character to be doing when visitors arrive.

Here are some examples from a long while back when all my characters were on a quest task to go to OFlanagans for a drink. The pictures were taken when they were all still inside the bar! In my own town, no characters were visible. They were indoors, drinking.

However.... Each of the pics below is a screencap taken when I was looking at my main town from one of my feeders. (BTW, not shown here, but i took a screencap, went back to my friend screen, reentered the town and most of the tasks are different from just a moment before)

First, the crowd pouring out, then a little farther, then close up.

Also, in the closeup you can see that if the random task happens t be a stationary one, the character is in the doorway ... And multiple stationary characters get stuck in the doorway together. Behind Snake who is combing his hair, i see Smithers whipping it, Boobarella burning at the stake, Kearney in there dancing a jig, plus patty and Selma must be smoking and Rich Texan is on the bull. Barney's passed out on the ground. and a bunch I can't see.

BTW, this only happens while the task is in progress. In your case, if the 4-hour indoor task is no longer in progress, a visitor merely sees characters wandering out of the building, untasked. No screencap of that.

Hope that wasnt as confusing as I think it was. Its fun to send a bunch of characters to the 1-hour Kwik-E-Marts task, the 8-hour drink at Moe's task, or the 12-hour go to church task. Then visit your town and scroll to that building fast and you'll get there just as they're poring out. :)

Ditto. I have tried to put him on every task and none of them have him walking around with that flag.

Think many of the replies are correct, itis just an odd task seen in SFs that the characters may NOT actually be doing. I know I have noticed strange actions in my feeder SF like half of the Lisa & Millhouse pursue task from Valentines Day. Lisa is running trying to avoid something.
Sure wish Cecil would carry around the sign.

Hopefully( I know that it's almost zero chance ) EA will modify either the 1hr or the 24hr task to maybe carrying the sign again as Cecil just walking around is a fairly boring tasks, at least is he's carrying a sign it adds some more interest to the job.

For the most part yes. I know one scenario was Luann had been sent to relax in jacuzzi. When I got to my main town from my feeder, Luann was in the megaglobe. I went back to my main town to find she was still relaxing in the Jacuzzi. So i think you are correct in that EA has it set where indoor tasks set by player become random outdoor tasks when visiting a friend, but i also think the game randomly assigns an outdoor task regardless of what task you set for the character. I have noticed that if there is an indoor task like the pub where all the characters are at once they will begin doing some random outdoor task after pouring out of said building like it's 5 o'clock.

I think the post above is correct. Which is actually disappointing for me a bit. I say this because I set my outdoor visual tasks so that I can view them, but also sometimes I am thinking of my neighbors viewing these same outdoor tasks as well. I choose some with humor intended, but now that I know my neighbors probably never see them, it is a bummer. I do like the fact that they can always see a visual task, if my characters are indoors. But I still wish they saw the same outdoor tasks I choose.

Why have animations or skins (burns $$$ mountain, the new pool) Already in the game, but inaccessible?

    Waste of code and space..

They did it no problem for the half built radioactiveman statue... :?

... This is so frustrating it makes me want make a "we need more land"...

Seriously.. This should be a no brainier.

From my experience looking into my main town from several feeders, characters to whom I have assigned visual tasks always appear doing that task. If I set Tatum to walk the tiger, that is what I see him doing from my feeders. .... But if I set him to an indoor task, then when I visit, I see him either walking the tiger or jogging.

On the other hand, an earlier post in this thread mentioned that they had Luann assigned to jacuzzi (which is visual) but that when they saw her from another town, she was riding the megaglobe (a different visual task). The only explanation I can think of in that case was that the jacuzzi task is physically "connected" to a building ... Maybe the program considers it an indoor task. Its a weak explanation but I'm only one I can think of.

I'll test it tomorrow. I'll assign Helen and Reverend Lovejoy to worship, Luann to her jacuzzi task and maybe Tom Oflanagan to dance a jig. And peek in from my feeders.

For now, its late and I'm lazy. So tomorrow. ;)
