Do you have the ability to log in from a different device? It probably won't make a difference, but if it is also slow on the second device, you would know the problem is with the town itself ... that is, uninstall/reinstall wouldn't matter, would it?

I was able to try the game on an ipad and the lag is gone, so it seems to be restricted to my phone. Still weird, since I didn't have any lag before the blow up, but at least it's fixable
