@Juliet -- I believe you said "I would have followed a different path." First reaction: "Well, crap." Then "How can this be twisted?" Followed by "The Twist." Reaction when that didn't work: "Well, crap."
But it paled in comparison to GL's message wherein my villain character killed someone with "a net". (Still shakes head over that one.)
So, anybody have any thoughts about whether the Simpson Family are the Villain teams?
It was a lot of fun in DMP when everyone was trying to come up with clues for you! The "a net" one was brilliant

Since the villain teams aren't named in the rules, I'm thinking there may be something sneaky afoot? Perhaps the opening story is some kind of misdirection to get us chasing the Simpsons when the villains are actually 4 different characters?
It did sound very out of character for Homer to act that way. The original teaser said something about crimes being committed and not being punished ... let me go find how it was worded. It sounded more widespread than two teams of villains. So maybe there's something in the air? Or Brandon's just twisted.
EDIT TO ADD: Here's the language from the end of the original "teaser":
In the town of Springfield, crimes are being committed freely and without any punishment. Why? It's because the less-than dedicated officers who investigate these vicious felonies are members of a not-so-elite squad known as the Springfield Police Department. These are their stories.

*twitch* game give me trauma. I wait 4 day I tonguetangler
i felt so bad sitting there and watching you suffer, without being able to intervene...
for me it was the funnest game ever though it was one of the only games I was really in the middle of it, and at the end of everything I was right
edit: given the MM, I think the 4 Simpsons are the two villain teams

hmmm. Based on this, and the Morning Message, I think we might be able to deduce that the Simpsons are the villains. (They killed Patty & Selma, and so far have gotten away with it....)
Or, maybe it's all a humorous ruse, and the villains are really members of the Springfield Police Department?
Oooh, good catch. In the past specialties have been things like "hidden role list," right? This game obviously has that, I wonder what else it has in secret....

yeah things like hidden role lists, resurrection, or the alpha/omega teams thing
@Wij he could be trying to catch villains... I think you're trying to catch villains as well Wij, but you only need to catch two I think
'Catching up'... Seems like Johnny wants to 'catch' something, innocents?
"Catching up" with innocents to hunt villains!
My thoughts:
Homer and Marge are both murderers. Bart and Lisa are both accessories to murder.
They are probably the villain teams.
Wiggum and Eddie were mentioned. Possible characters playing.
My guess is that most of the characters are in law enforcement, ie: cops/Feds, lawyers, Judges.
"Specialty" says, secret. Maybe there is some kind of jail and that's why we can't talk? Also, why it doesn't say, the villains need to kill each other?
At least AWST is easy for me. 12 hours difference exactly. I think whoever came up with CGs was slowly trying to teach everyone the different time zones and their names.
The ineptitude of the SPD seems to be a common theme so far, do we think that's going to affect game play at all down the line? Maybe that's what the "special" game type is all about?

Law & Order, so possible criminal characters? Sideshow Bob, Hank Scorpio, Fat Tony, Snake, Molloy, ...N

I found the term "defeat" in at least two other games ... The Wonderland game and the Bad Santa game. It appears that, if the past is a guide, "defeat" may be interchangeable with "kill".
Not definite, though.

I would have thought that that Wiggum, Eddie andd Lou would have some sort of special role on the innocent team.
My first assumption was that the two villain groups were Marge and Lisa in one and Homer and Bart in the other.
"Marge said. "Okay. Lisa, you go with your mum and boy, you come with me." - both kids go with with Marge?
Guessing it's just a typo and Homer is speaking, but it doesn't come across that way to me by the way it's written.
Just to clarify Barndoor please?

I have to work for a few hours and come back to multiple pages. 8)
I'll get caught up.

Nice to see old 'faces' back
So which Simpson is in which team?
