    I haven't ever seen it in an episode, but it looks quite a bit like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, from the book & film of the same name.

    I guess we're just that old... I had a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang matchbox car when I was young. Plastic wings folded out, didn't run very well though. Wish I still had my old matchbox and hot wheels cars!

    From what I could find it only appeared in an opening sequence from the episode "boy meets curl." It was part of a short run of opening sequence gags from when they switched to HD. See miraclemet's post above.
    You can google it by searching "the Simpsons chitty chitty bang bang" and look at the Simpsons wiki page.

    I had that too. Wish it would of survived the 60's. At least my 12" GI Joes survived.

    I put it with the theatre. Seems the sort of kitsch that a theatre might have outside as a statue.
