Just to be sure... The modern lower balcony (acquired on Level 2) becomes the modern upper balcony (on level 3), right?? As I just realized I have only one main balcony now at level 5, and not two...
Thanks!

ha ha good luck with that, it's too free form for me, I just keep slapping it all on the mansions, if it I;m overlapping.

I thought the parking garage was supposed to go on the mansion's head like a hat. Like how posh buildings have those hair-gel-looking sloped rooftops. Alas, it refuses to wear its hat.

And the classic mansion is a complete pooper. Whenever you want to move something one square over you have to do it brick by brick. And the side building has me beside myself with doubt about whether I attached it on the correct side. So much self loathing.

You should have one of each, I do anyway

I love that I am not the only person struggling with where all the 'bits' go...lol. I seem to be creating very ugly buildings!!!

I don't se how one can create pretty buildings: The parts don't fit! The modern side building reaches just above middle of the windows, and it looks weird in the front, same with Side building 2, the Upper Balcony ends up a little to the right or a little the left of every opening or window it can be placed next to, and so on.

The Classic Mansion parts fits better to the main bulding, but not necessarily to each other.

I love the idea of the upgrades as separate parts, so I can make them look like 10 different buildings, and don't regret upgrading beyond level 2 beause of ugly, but it should look more seamless.

I didn't actually attach the side building to the side. I turned it and placed a corner of it on the corner of the house.

For me at least one piece has gone to the back of the house and you can't see it which I really don't like. Plus I've no idea what to do with that hideous hot tub that doesn't complement the rest of the house!

That's what I thought at the beginning because it makes more sense... So who stole my lower balcony?? Probably would have to get another M. Mansion to Level 2...

Just keep fiddling around with how they fit together...I had trouble getting them to look right, but I finally figured out how to make it look good and now it's one of my favorite mansions

I'm having the same trouble - basically the bits don't fit together very much at all.
Really, REALLY poor design by EA.

These elements should fit together seamlessly in a number of ways, but they simply don't!

Please share, mine are U G L Y,. Although I can see some potential with the middle building in the highest upgrade level. I only have one for now.

yeah, it will be pretty in the end  Always been more of of a builder than a decorator, though.

This is what I came up with on my own, before good ideas from Orionsbell and CPTSean541. Definetly under construction:

(Oh, and I even demand kudos for posting my first picture, btw, so sorry if it's to big)

I would so like to post my pics of the mansions, but I don't deserve posting privileges yet. If some level 2 person could show mercy upon me, the site is: http://imgur.com/a/17MJn

I don't really know how this works, so... whatever happens, I'm certainly more than okay with.

Thank you so much, JhoJnack!! I hope to repay you by helping someone else some day. I am overwhelmed by your generosity. And...I still want to learn from others what they are doing with these buildings.

No Problem. I recommend checking out the Springfield Showcase board on this forum, theres already quite a few posts showing a lot of great designs. Check out this one for some cool modern mansion designs:
