I'm #1!!!! First time ever! I'm at 240 mil, and I agree, the lake is awesome! Can't wait to work it into my designs.
I have a neighbor starting to gain on me though, so I have a feeling my time at the top will be over soon...
I am #13. I have some friends who spend a lot of donuts though.
My top 2 friends are allready in the Billions. Why they do this I do not know. Top player is 10 billion with massive gold trees side by side.
This crazy donut user also had millions of wins during the last Soccer Event. The next was 800 wins while I was only able to come in around 400.
Maybe he has unlimited donuts through an old hack/glitch/something?
Within 12 hrs of this event starting in another thread one user was boasting he had a billion and the conclusion is obvious. Rather like the atheletes who take performance enhancing drugs to win their accomplishment is meaningless and empty. You can 'achieve' a lot of lot of things in life without actually doing anything but real achievement is often in the struggle in getting to the goal
I'm #6. My neighbour who was #1 in Tap ball hasn't started Springfield Heights yet. I guess that accounts for going up on the ranks so quickly, since a lot of people haven't started the game.
Edit- I just made it to #3 after buying some more condos!
I understand the fun some have with these leaderboard comparisons, and in some other context it might give you some idea of how you are doing, however it mostly seems pointless.
- You get nothing for whatever your placement on the leaderboard is. Bragging rights? No; because of the glitches, if nothing else.
- There are glitches to use to get higher on the leaderboard than you would be without them.
- The comparisons are apples to oranges. Different playing styles. Different grinding. Different real money spent on donuts. Different neighbors. etc.
Finally, you can hide neighbors or drop them and raise yourself on the leaderboard.
I honestly don't know at this point. I am not bothering with the rankings aspect of the Heights, but the one time that I had to check (part of the quest), one of my neighbors was well over 600 million, with about 5 or so other neighbors around 400 million. That was on Saturday. The rankings, I find interesting, only a few seem to be competing right now out of my neighbors. Those that are really serious about events, for the most part, aren't really that active in the Heights as they find it too risky until a patch is implemented for donut loss. Others are burnt out from the last event (big arrow pointing to me!!). I myself am around 130 million? Taking my sweet time with the heights as I want to enjoy it longer. So maybe out of my 100 neighbors - most are still active with about 5 quitting due to the last event, I am probably in the middle of the chart.

Hehe...I didn't even realize they were doing a leaderboard for this! I have always considered the leaderboards to be a tool for EA to make $$, as it doesn't really affect your game or give you anything for your ranking. I agree !00% with you!
I use the leaderboard as a tool to measure my grinding techniques. I often sit a comfortable distance behind the insane donut spenders, right in the middle of the folks who seem to have just a bit too much free time on their hands.
So, I am currently sitting at the #1 spot of all 50 or so of my friends who have started SH. I have just over 200m real estate (I just got the lake, it looks awesome). What is your current rank among your friends?
You probably wouldnt make top 5 in my list. Top 2 are over 1bn!! - I'm still struggling to break the 100m mark. That being said I am focusing on land expansions atm to make it easier to move things around. Eventually we will all be on pretty much the same given there are a limited number of buildings we can have,
