So far I haven't found a way. It would be nice to go over the mountains or around the ocean.

Wouldn't it be cool if it stopped at krustyland hotel (just like disneyland's monorail does?)

There are numerous ways they could have one about this if they completely thought through their event like for instance we should have Y tracks or rail signals that way they can switch lines so that we can have different rail lines to go to different places. they could have also made it so that with maybe a 24-hour construction time or 12 hour construction time that we could place the rails in the water so that the time sink would simulate the construction that it would take to plant the the beam in the bedrock under the water or they could have released a tunnel hell they could even released a tunnel for donuts for the premium players that would look like it's made by the rich people or something to that effect.

If they added Y tracks and rail switches it would go against what the monorail means, one rail.
But I do wish they added a way to access Springfield Heights, in act 3 we are getting a station which makes perfect sense there and would appear out of place anywhere else (in my town anyway)

Maybe a double viaduct over the mountains. Going, and coming.

I'd love to have Y tracks it would make things easier with the big Krusty station which comes with a train.

they may yet change the mountain tunnel into a mountain railway pass so the tracks can go straight through into the Heights. I mean the Groening drawing for this event shows the monorail navigating the mountains and valleys, so...

I'll bet that there was no concept of SH when the branch for Monorail was pulled. LPN posted some pics on a conjecture that the tunnel may be removable in the future.

If you have multiple tracks/trains all connected with Y tracks there would still be 1 rail = monorail.

A Y track merges 2 rails into one, if it was to include 2 rails it stops being a monorail and becomes an elevated railway wouldn't it?

As long as the train runs on a single rail at any given time, it is a monorail. If it runs on two rails at the same time, it becomes an elevated railway.

I like it the way it is. Having just one train that stops at all the stations creates an awesome view for when you select "Ride the monorail." Riding the monorail is a lot of fun!

When I say rail I am referring to the path it follows, does rail in this case mean like a beam? I'm sorry for not understanding this but I have never left Ireland and we barely have trams here.

Yes, in this case, I am referring to a rail as the support beam on which the train physically sits, regardless of how many paths it might be able to take. All that being said, I'm not sure if there are any monorails in existence that can take more than one path - they tend to be small loops, I believe.

Ah that makes more sense, In that case I suppose EA could add a Y track in the future but still probably wouldn't because the Springfield one is a continuous loop anyway.
Thanks HappyGamer for explaining things

I think Y pieces would make it too complicated. Disneyland doesn't have tracks like that. They could make monorail tracks that cross one another, so you can run two or more lines through your town.

The best I could think of was having a station in each area with the tracks for them ending at either end of the tunnel.

Nevermind connecting Springfield's Monorail with the Heights - just build a whole new monorail IN the Heights. It's a great place to use up all those wonderful curve pieces that you have in storage. Move one of your stations (or more) into the Heights and start building. Voila! Two monorails running all the time. And one of these days, maybe we'll be offered a connection tunnel just for the monorails.
