Hmmm. Except there are two of them so maybe courgettes? If they're working together, I mean ... Two vowels each .. If that makes any sense ... Maybe? Possibly?

Just to clarify ... My answer is courgettes.

(Incidentally, what the hell is a courgette? And what are "marrows"? I know " bone marrow " ... But "marrows"? )

There's two for all of them?

And marrows/ courgettes are both similar. They look like thicker cucumbers. It's difficult to explain, but you can stuff them with stuffing and other stuff

Correct answer but the wrong explanation, therefore I cannot count as a right answer because someone could just have guessed and got it right.

If Neil and Diane grow leeks,
    Alec and Lisa grow carrots,
and Jacob and Chloe grow beans.

Do Tom and Andrea grow courgettes or marrows?

I think I have it! (Sort of) The last letters of the two names are the first two letters of the food.

    EXAMPLE:
Last letter of "Neil" is "L" and last letter of "Diane" is "E" ... hence, "LEEKS"
Last letter of "Alec" is "C" and last letter of "Lisa" is "A" ... hence, CARROTS
Last letter of "Jacob" is "B" and last letter of "Chloe" is "E" ... hence, BEANS

THEREFORE: The last letter of "Tom" is "M" and the last letter of "Andrea" is "A" ... so MARROW

    (Was there more than that?)

ROFL. I think I know your reason ... it was my first thought ... which proves that either we're both really smart or not. :)

(Meanwhile, I'm going to see if I can figure out something else. So far, I got nuthin'.)

Is it X? The last letter of each number when written as a word? So one is E, Two is O, etc.

Edit, meaning that 6 is next so X (six) is the last letter of the word
