Have you tried going to Krustyland/friends screen and back? This is probably the same issue as the rail yard.

I had this problem. I went to a Friend's Springfield and it gave me the flying car. Problem solved.

Worked like a charm, thanks guys!! Do you guys remember what it took to get it? Was it 25 million? Just making sure they were counting my stuff still even though I was stuck for a little bit.
