I'm also lagging bad since the halloween update. Wasn't that way at first but once the first week finished it became basically unplayable. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

I have an iPod touch gen 5 with updated software on both the iPod and the Simpsons app, and I've got a lot to f the same problems you guys are having when I send my characters on jobs the game lags between from character to character when I'm sending them on jobs. Also another huge problem I'm having is before the monorail story, I didn't have this problem, but when I slide my finger or stylus across my screen in my springfield (or neighbors for that matter) the map used to glide across my screen smoothly and slowly come to a stop. Now it's all choppy & sketchy. The map won't 'glide' anymore. When I lift my finger or stylus the maps stops right there. This HIGHLY annoys me! Am I alone on this or does other springfields not 'glide' across your screens anymore either?? hellllllllp.....

I have noticed how smooth the game runs in Krustyland while it's so sluggish in Springfield. Which made me think, since the game gets the most slow after tapping a finished job, in Springfield is probably so slow because of the many different resources there are in it, as opposed to Krustyland. It's that or the sheer amount of land owned.

Anyone who is in a low level or with few land upgrades experiencing the lag?

Anyone speak to EA about this issue? I'm surprised my game still lags. For a Stone Age iPad like mine, iPad mini 1 which runs vain glory quick in high fps, a cartoon game should run faster. I might contact ea about the lag but you guys said they don't seem to have enough complaints? Tapped out runs slightly better on my iPhone 5 but not much. Looking forward to see if any of you guys have krusty land type fps again :)

Yup, I'm still lagging on both iPad2 and iPhone 4s. Wish this can be fixed or maybe once the event ends, I hope it goes back to normal.

I feel like this problem will never be solved, and it's amazing how few of us are having this problem.

Hate this is my first message, but wanted to add myself to this list. Play on iPhone 4s w/ old ios 7. Most bugs seems to be solved quickly, but this one has gone on for months now.

My theories on what may be causing this issue:
    -Old device/operating system/low memory.
-Numerous currencies (SH/monorail/THOH) *I notice the most lag in my game when collecting anything other then cash & xp.*
-A bug related to the THOH event. (Though I believe this problem started before the event).
-Something to do with the IRS building.
-The monorail. (Think lag first started during this event).
    -Too many NPCs/buildings/characters/too much land.
-Having old friends who no longer play/update game.

Not sure how wide spread this issue is, but hope more people who have it speak up so we can hopefully figure out a resolution. I've been playing this game for years, but it's starting to become a chore. Hope my input helps somehow.

I was having a horrible lag problem - my game was freezing up every few seconds and about to drive me nuts. One of my neighbors suggested I try storing my Heights buildings that weren't upgraded all the way...

Now I can barely catch the FTs running around my town they're so fast.

I'm seeing this too with the latest Halloween update. As noted by others it's fine in Krustyland so I don't think the hardware is the problem, it just can't handle everything in Springfield. If it doesn't improve soon I'm going to give up after 3+ years of daily playing :(

You are right! Removing the heights buildings that aren't upgraded to the max does help. There's still a bit of lag but it's way better now. What I don't understand now, is why those heights icons are causing the lag? My game was just fine when the heights were introduced, it was after the Monorail update that it started to get slow. It's so nice to find a fix (which feels like it's not gonna last long), but now I will be missing out on the XP multiplier granted by them. EA should just remove those floating tool/upgrade icons. Anyway, thanks for the tip wadebear!

The game should be fixed so the multiplier works also if the SH building are stored (actually that will not work).
I did my job to build and upgrade them so I should get the XP bonus, no matter if they are placed or stored.
Those building are ugly and it's simply a no sense to have all these identical and enormous building placed in my Springfield.

Thank you for the tip on storing the non-upgraded Heights buildings. This has been bugging me all month, and definitely speeds things up for me. Currently on level 58 on my main account, and land bought out just past the edge of the radioactive debris, so this fix seems to help even for fairly large land spaces.

Whoa! That totally worked. I'd put away all my trains and that didn't help, but getting rid of just the un-upgraded condos, and my game is actually playable again. That's awesome. Thanks for the tip! (I tested taking out the garages, and mansions, neither of them seemed to add to the lag, but as soon as I pulled the condos out, the lag came back, so I'm operating under the premise that 1.) it is the SH buildings, and 2.) it is primarily the unfinished condos which are causing problems.

Later I'm going to try and pull out my trains again, and see what happens. :)

Well I am extremely happy to say that the game is fixed since the halloween event ended, no lag in my town whatsoever. Lets just hope the xmas update doesnt being the lag back. I also have a good springfield heights, and all my monorails are connected :)
