Yes you have missed something.

The game counter (left-lower corner) shows cumulative total.
The prize screen only shows what you actually have/need for that particular prize.

It's a change compared to previous events and confuses more people.
I didn't understand either at first.

the higher number is your total, it will reset at every prive, so if you need 1k for prize 1 and 1k for prize 2 youll have 2k total^^
