There are also some premium items now in the store that spawn nightmares. Only good if you've got donuts to spend, though.

Do you and your husband have the same number of kids in the game? That would explain the disparity.

A problem a lot of people are having is the Nightmare limit. You can only have 60 Nightmares in your game - 20 visible and 40 hidden. If your payout is larger than that you lose the rest.

Clear out all your Nightmares before tapping out the Campfire.

When sending kids to the Campfire send them in groups long enough apart so that they don't all pop out at once. I do groups of 4 about 30 seconds apart. That gives me time to collect the payout creatures before I tap out the next set of kids.

Oh, I should mention that the only Streets I have are right around the Campfire. So the Nightmares pop in right there at the campfire ready to tap and I don't have to hunt them down.

Another issue I've run into myself is that sometimes you don't get the full payout. I've had that happen several times. I'm playing 2 games with the exact same kids and I'll wind up with different numbers of Nightmares collected towards the next upgrade. And no, it's not because of Friend Actions. I'm accounting for those. Today I had to make sure to tap more snakes in my B town so I could even up with my A town.

I think it's important to clear all from streets in your town before releasing the batch that comes from tapping the fire. If you hit the max limit, i think you lose any that would have in in excess.

Also i witnessed this today: came into town and had a batch of skeletons because my story teller was Bart. I accidentally hit the fire before collecting them, and the entire batch converted to bunnies right before my eyes. I only needed two more so the rest went to waste.

Im not sure exactly how or why. I did have Bart as story teller, but i had the kids as bunny makers from the previous story teller. I changed them by storing Bart and Milhouse. Apparently the game remembered and reverted on me, screwing my attempt to get a head start on the next currency.

So now i always clear streets before going near the fire.
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
