Wow, people who have the Gate must have a lot of free time. I'm doing a BSC in Film and Television Production at the University of York and I'm still a way off Model Donut. Managed to craft Hugo thankfully though.
It also helps if you've been playing for some time and have a lot of the kids unlocked. Premium kids drop more s'mores than the freemium ones. The more kids you have you get more of the needed currency so it doesn't necessarily mean they play more as, you still have to wait 4 hours for the campfire task to end.

This, for sure. My side town I only just got Rod & Todd and crafted Hugo as quickly as I could so I had more kids to make smores with... I only have about 4K worth of smores so if I make it to the gate, it'll be by the skin of my teeth. My main town tho I'm nearly to the gate cuz I have all the kids and the premium kids.
Also while I don't have a lot of time, I play at my desk at work. It takes about 10 minutes to clear out the kids and I've been staggering my adult tasks so I don't have to clear them all at once. 10 minutes every 4 hours isn't that much of a committment, then while watching TV in the evenings, I'll do my neighbor drops.
The fun thing about this game is it can take up as much time as you want, or you can barely touch it and still do pretty well.

I noticed that my unemployment office doesn't allow me to send everyone on tasks anymore. This was such a nice feature and, I rarely send everyone on tasks as with the 118 characters I have, it takes way to long. Assume it disappeared because it wasn't always functioning properly.

Helps that I had Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday off from work
Well
I started a bit late but like usual I'm glad for those extra s'mores daily as I'll just end up clinching the gate. Also for us workers we can only do maybe 4 max times a day to collect s'mores and maybe pop in a couple quick times to get stuff. Also sat Sunday I def collect the max every 4 hrs or so to get hat I can. I need some sleep. It seems this time no s'mores by visiting neighbors. If you started a bit late then you def need as much help as possible. People do have lives you know heh.
It's odd that we are getting smores in the Daily Play Boxes too, because with the Act prizes being so easy to get to hardly one is going to need them and most of us will just have an excess and nothing to show for it.
While the Act One prizes may be "so easy" for many players, there are many who won't find it "so easy". There are players who don't have many kids to generate smores. There are many people that only get to play occasionally. It's easy to forget that those of us in this forum are not representative of the average TO player.
Can someone please tell me if I am missing something.... My s'more count in the lower left corner is more than enough for the Gate to Nowhere, and I have the previous items, but under the picture of the gate in the crafting box, it says I only have 500+. Am I missing how to craft this item? Help!

The one on the lower left is the total. The one in the crafting box is how many more you need to get the item. Looking for the total for the gate so you can check...
Ok where it says you crafting and the amount of s'mores you need for current thing which is the gate to no where. That is the current amount leading up to the next prize. The total amount of s'mores you've collected is just showing the total so far. Why ea did this I have no clue as it strayed from path and tons of ppl got a lil confused. I did at first but then I was like oh ok EA you wanna be weird about it but yeah that's how it works.
And before ppl waste all their precious skulls rabbit ears eggs and brains on act one stuff there's really cool stuff in act 2 n 3 I can't say what cause obviously there's fun police so yeah just trust me or you can go to Simpsons wiki. They tell u all the goods thanks to one of our awesome tappers on here. Which I forgot his name atm. But yeah in my opinion the spooky grove the weird walkway maze castle thing and maybe one spooky house are the best to get. Other then that the dead tree and ones with skeleton in tree aren't worth the stuff. Maybe a couple at most of skeleton in tree but dead tree not really. Happy tapping.
I got the gate today. So now I will do the shopkeeper tasks, grind at the rail yard, do Springfield Heights tasks, and any leftover kids will be at the campfire.
I don't think I've ever been finished this early in a Holiday event before, and left with nothing to do. Still collecting items for part 2 and sending terrors to my neighbors.

I was just thinking the same thing! It felt really, uncharacteristically easy. Then again, I believe I have every premium kid and they each generate double (quadruple for the twins) currency.
I've continued to upgrade, but I'm doing a bit of monrail work this morning.
I do think that I will get up to skeletons and set my campfire on that for awhile since I seem lacking in bones, and future crafting will require a lot of those for what I what.
I was able to reach the first four prizes easily but the gate seems to be harder to reach. I know the final prize always requires much more to collect but I'm not there yet. Wonder why I don't have as many s'mores to collect.

Edit:
9270 smores

If you have over 9270 smores, see if a synch with server might help, or force close app and restart.

Yes (at least for now) all crafted Act 1 items (aside from S'mores) carry over to Act 2 & 3.

I'm curious, do you have all the kids as well?
