I would like an in game messenger

So I can send just short messages to my neighbours.

Even if it's to say hi or I'm on holidays or where the hell are you  ?

I know people say it will get out of hand or you will be sent abusive messages. If you were only able to send them to your neighbours and no one else it should work.

And if you get abusive messages just delete them.

This would still be subject to too much abuse. There are reasons we cant have nice things. They are called human beings and how they treat people over the internet.

If you want to contact your neighbors, there you can easily use EA's Origin client to contact them - if they wish to be contacted or you can use forum email / private messages. This is how most of us communicate.

They could always have preselected words that you choose from to make a sentence. If you know what I mean. I forget which app had that.

The 8 Ball Pool game app allows you to message your opponent, but only with short words like 'nice shot', 'unlucky', 'play again?' etc. Nothing negative. I guess EA could implement a similar system that had basic questions and responses, maybe including things like 'nice town'.

Exactly what I was saying ! I mean realistically you would not need to say anything besides the basic stuff about one's town.

Yes just short txt "be back 2 weeks", "tap squidport".

I have a few neighbours that don't use the forum or origin's (EA) messages To be able to send something while you are on the game could help.

    Sounds like bloatware.

I would not like anything else that's going to make the game slower. I would like all effort made to accelerate game play, not hinder it.

I have nothing critical that must be said to others.
There is nothing critical i want to hear from others.
I do not need a complex communication tool simply to make small talk or share trivial compliments.

Increase performance! Decrease BUGS! Things that matter! Not chitchat.

 Totally agree. Any concern that someone might leave inappropriate messages would be made irrelevant if they did what you suggest. :)

Good idea! With our current tools (see what i did there? ), it would take, like, a truckload of cash on newspaper dispensers, snapdragons, and hedges to get it just right if we wanted to draw "**** and stuff". Plus, Lord knows how much land we would need. Especially for the " and stuff" if you catch my drift. It could be such a headache.

A drawing board would make it so much more efficient. :P :P

kinda like when we used to draw pictures using snake eggs in our neighbors towns.

the mechanism to be able to make it so you can draw is already there by the way the scratcher works. but instead of removing it can be changed to add lines

Hadn't thought of that ... Whoever writes the code wouldn't need to start from ... well ... scratch.. I'm actually liking the idea, maxx. :)

i think it would be fun too but they wont do it because jerks like me will end up drawing pictures to * people off and then EA will have to deal with more complaints

wow really. the other word for urine is censored

Somebody had a good idea the other day (apologies i can't remember who) but the addition of pre-populated signs for our towns, with wording such as 'On Holiday', 'Loading Issues' Etc. I think this was a really good idea and with the right signage would give us opportunity to tell our neighbours whats going on.

I could really use this right now, as i can't visit neighbours. I'm on vacation and the wifi is only just strong enough to hold for a few minutes while i tape my campfire, so it's a concern that neighbours will think i'm slacking!

Forum PMs are nice but most of my neighbors don't check the forum or their messages often enough or at all. An in game messenger would be nice. I get people will be negative at times, but if it's only between neighbors then you could just delete a negative neighbor.. I am a big fan of an online tank game and the hate I get in that game is crazy. It doesn't matter if I am friends with them or not. Anyone can message anyone. When I get a hate message I block them and report the message to Xbox Live. EA may add a feature like this in time. I would welcome it if they did.

I don't think I'd like it if people are going to contantly tell me what to tap in their town.

Hay Day has an in-game messenger and my family have never experienced any problems with it (in fact, the people they have talked to on it bar one person who couldn't help it anyway because he had a mental condition have been very nice) so I don't see why they couldn't do it.
