To Duff or not to Duff?

So I've been collecting donuts from mystery stocking and I'm up to 190. I planned to get the Duff brewery with my new found free donuts but I have some concerns. Will this be cheaper after the update?, will there be better stuff after? Should I just grab Duff now in case this update steals my donuts? Any advice would be appreciated , thanks all!

Outside of the Ray Gun, premium items have never dropped in cost after an update. Nonpremium buildings will but never premium buildings/characters, at least up until this point. I have the brewery and like the look of it, but most of the tasks are boring (the dancing is cool, but it's mostly outside of different buildings). Not too interesting.

IDK, hard to say update content is to unpredictable. But itsme is proberly right in saying it didn't change before so why should it change now. On another note, I like the duff factory my favourite task is him riding the Segway. That being said if it where me i would wait and see what the next update has.

Correct me if I'm wrong Dan, but didn't the Springfield sign drop a little once? I know in one thread at least two people have said it dropped once and stayed at its current price. So it's not a never but more of a very rarely and not likely to happen anytime soon thing.

I think that the chances of you losing your donuts during the upadte is fairly slim so you should probably just hang on another couple of days before making a decision.

Mind you, trading donuts for beer is never a mistake in my book.

It's rare that things drop, but since the update is so close(supposedly) you should hold off in case you see something better.

You could be right. I used to be sporadic on the forum so could have missed that talk. I guess we'll find out soon enough if it happens again.

I predict premium stuff will probably go up after the update - now we are all flush with donuts it has sort of devalued the currency. EA want to make money, if we're not buying they're not getting any joy.
Or there'll be something so freaking impressive coming up which costs a squillion donuts which will clear us all out.

You are paranoid. They aren't going to raise the items prices. They are already high enough.

I think the whole free donuts was a way to say sorry for dropping the ball yet again and trying to restore some of the faith lost in them.

I would hold off on buying any premium items till the update just so u won't regret having spent them if something even better comes out

Yeah, I'd echo what everyone else has said: better to hold off a day or two, since the update is right around the corner.

That said, I have the brewery and love it. Duffman's tasks are repetitive, no doubt, but they're mostly outside. And remember that premium characters earn significantly more for their tasks. 24 hours of brewery dancing will net you a cool grand.

The free donuts are to get the users hooked. Just like a dealer gives away some of their supply to create a demand....so are the donuts. Once you start buying and see how much better your town looks? You can't stop and will talk yourself into another $10 here and another $20 there.

I don't believe premium prices will go up, this is basic marketing 101 ploy. Give something away free to create a bigger demand. It's a brilliant strategy which is why it's been used for so long by others.

    Back to the question:

    Wait.

Duff is not a limited time offer and what if something comes up next that you want more? We will know in about 24 hours if there is an update or not.

Duff is an annoying and boring character but I like his building and his promote Duff tasks amuses me (he is never off that Segway!)
