Uselessness of trying to contact EA

I feel your pain. I contacted EA on Sept. 28 because of the problem I'm having with the Rail Yard. I got one response, nothing since and the problem still isn't fixed. There's a reason EA won Consumerist's Worst Company in America twice in a row.

They are bad for sure - I have an existing months old issue - still open - no reply for months.
They are rude, usually not to helpful, and I cannot stand dealing with them.
PM me- I DO need Good Neighboreenos currently

I still shudder when I remember the last time I tried contacting them. I got a seemingly endless loop of attempts to start a live chat, only to be told my case had been resolved, or I was thanked for my input, or my game would be restored promptly. Mind you I never actually talked to anyone, but somehow they resolved my missing fountain. Unless it's a special invisible fountain. Maybe that's why I think it's still missing.

After a couple bad experiences with live chat, I just took it to the phone. Friendly, competent help every time. The last time was very trivial, but they called instantly and resolved the issue. Of course, living in the US is necessary for that (Canada too? Not sure there).

I tried to follow the instructions that LPNintendoITAd pinned but now the live chat option is not available, only looking at the Questions Headquarters with no change of contacting EA - at least I couldn't see any after three different tries I give up

Anyone has the new link? before they change it again to stop us from getting through?

Ahh good to feel people are noticing the slack customer service from ea. just hope they don't do to you what they did with me. I sent them a complaint email, no reply from complaint but they used my email to send me a survey on how they think they should improve service. They would've had to read my complaint to get my email address. Plain rude.

About a week ago I asked ea support if they could refund donuts for an accidental purchase, they replied: we will let our specialist team know, they will contact you back via e mail.

Today I got a response telling me they cannot refund the donuts and told me to turn on the donut spend warning which I already have.

Useless, now I have an item I don't want :/

I have tried contacting EA several times... half of the times the solutions work (Eg they managed to recover a limited-time item missing from my town), the other times are mainly channeling my questions from one person to another, with more questions asked back, then re-channel to more other persons, without any solution.

Nah ****, don't take that, ask to have the problem escalated higher. I wouldn't take that.

Phone is the best way to go and if they don't/can't give the help you want ask to go higher up (especially if you think the rep is talking out their rear ask for a different rep). But you got to remember that phone option is only available M-F during business hours, so if you don't see phone available it's after hours and all you have to do is wait.

this is so weird to me.

I purchased a kwikimart scratch a few months ago and it never showed up. But I wasnt sure if I got charged so I waited until the bill came. Sure enough I was charged. I Chatted with EA online and they asked for a screen shot of my proof of purchase. I blurred personal info and posted the image proving my purchase. They were able to confirm I never got the ticket. They tried to give me a ticket in my inventory (miscellaneous) but it wouldnt show up no matter how many times I logged out and back in.

Finally they just gifted me 15 donuts.

Then, recently, after a game update, a scratch ticket showed up mysteriously in my inventory  along with 2 derelict burning brown houses that had also disappeared last time I nuked my town.

I talked to them in the morning. The chat option is useless indeed. Choose "call back" instead.

I don't think it's all bad. Just depends on when you contact them and who you get. On Tuesday my game started crashing after finishing the quest where you send the adults to moes, Krusty burger and kwiki mart. I did the online chat. I think I only waited 5 minutes to talk to someone. They couldn't figure it out so the escalated me to someone else to wait for them to contact me by email. I waited two and a half days then finally last night someone contacted me. They couldn't figure it out but in the mean time I guess ea had fixed the problem so I was able to get back in. I asked them hey are you able to compensate me on donuts that I am going to miss from the quests I won't be able to finish. This morning I woke up and the guy had given me 300 donuts for my problems.

They did get voted worst company in America three years in a row by Forbes magazine. My brother worked as a developer for them for years and he said there attitude there was terrible, they never are open to new ideas or anything and he told me he quit because they wouldn't let him "express himself as an artist so to speak" and he had a huge passion for game development. Spent 40k of his own money studying for it. And was making games of his own at home in his spare time. I was a huge fan of ea and was quite defending of them for years as I loved there products and have brought them since the early 90s. But the latest episode of "always online" play for console games has lost me.

Was never able to reach EA's help. However, this morning, after several tries. I was able to access my town and Frink's offer was available. I won't get the last two prices, but what can I do? At least I might get the 20 donuts, who knows?
Just hope this doesn't happen to me again, or anyone else for that matter.
