Where's the spooky fog?

You're right. I meant before 2014.
In my opinion it gives that real Halloween feeling.
I would like to know why EA does this no more.

I'm betting performance is at least one issue. Especially as towns get bigger and bigger, and we've already got massive lag problems.

I was kind of expecting one of the characters to say we had fog but the weird drifters who worked at Apu's inhaled all the fog before passing out this year.

Probably there was too much extra animation this year already. The campfire is animated, the horrors are much more numerous than the gremlins used to be, and there is -- in general -- a whole lot more going on than the other THOH events I've played ... I don't know about the rest of you, but if they also had ambient animation, I think it would be nearly impossible to play. It's already difficult for a town to load with all the activity going on at the landing zone.

The Halloween events with a lot of ambient animation were at a time there was a lot less going on in our towns. There were only 22 Levels released before the 2012 Halloween event. The 2013 Halloween event was after Level 35. The 2013 Halloween event was the 33rd "content update" in the game. 2014 Halloween Event was 66th. This year, the Halloween Event is the 105th content update. That's a LOT of limited-time material in our towns.

I gree completely. This neon colored happy ville thing is cool, but even in THOH they have moody skies, thunderstorms etc. Also gone are the sounds of the occasional scream.

I also wish it was darker. I remember one year it was really dark and I loved it!

But people complained so they lightened it. Its WAY too light this year.

and for that matter the music is only there for brief instances and for whatever reason is quiet for the majority with no music

Could always turn down the brightness level on your phone or tablet and have it as dark as you like.

Definitely think it was probably a performance factor. The games lagging bad as it is with the extra animations, so i dread to think what it would have been like with full fog! Although i do agree, i miss it!

I liked it too but I remember a lot of people * and complaining about the fog as well, so maybe EA cut it out to appease the naysayers.
