Forum 'page reload' bug when posting a reply?

I just hit "stop" once the page loads, as it gets stuck looping loading the page for me.
Can post just fine once that's done.

I assume there is some kind of Java plug-in bug (I see some error messages at the bottom of the page, concerning Java environment).

The Java in this case is on the server side, freaking out over some error in a FreeMarker template.

While the root cause may be complex, it looks to me like it would be easy enough to work around it with a quick kludge in the meantime.
