Friend of Foe, Dropping Presents

I really don't think anyone is deliberately hiding presents. What would be the point? Presents benefit both the giver and the recipient. The problem is that they don't always go exactly where you intend them to. I like that each event has a different dynamic, but the limit of 5 a day to give, or 5 in your town at a time (someone had 6 once?), is making people a little... Holiday stressy?

It's a game, I don't think anyone is out to sabotage you. My wife could only drop 4 in my town today, and I have no idea where the other(s) may be. When I find it, I'll be glad, not all angry at the giver. I've taken to dropping them in open spaces; preferably near something frequently visited, like the recycle centers.

When you do find it, I hope it wasn't from me - I'd hate to lose one of my first Neighborinos.

Good luck.

I myself have accidentally dropped presents that ended up hidden somewhere in a neighbours landing zone (that's where I've been dropping most, if not all, presents). The few times it has happened have always been accidental - as said above, they don't always go where intended. In all but one case I have been able to pm the neighbour to tell them where the gift is - but I'm fairly certain a couple of them have not checked their pm's.

I'm certainly hoping no one holds it against me - again, it wasn't intentional.

So many of the presents I've dropped have gone behind houses completely by accident. I want you to find them as much as I want your presents. Keep 'em coming, folks, and remember: drop the gifts at the landing zone, the FIRST screen you see when visiting another town.

Some people think it's funny. I've seen some people trading off hiding presents. There are people who will risk real prison time to mess with people. There are griefers in most, if not all, online games. Losing a few bows wouldn't be a major deterrent.

I've not been on board with deleting friends who drop naughty presents because at the end of the day it's a game with a few-week event.

However, today I finally found a present that I'd been looking fire in town, dropped behind my cooling towers. It was a naughty present dropped by someone who only ever drops naughty presents in my town. At that point I decided to delete them. Not add some sort of punishment to them but as a way of making my game play easier. I don't want to have to search for presents and a player who only drops naughty presents in my town is of little use to me in this event anyway.

I also deleted another neighbour who tends to drop two naughty presents every other day in my town. I don't mind neighbours opening my presents as naughty, they probably won't get any back from me. But players who regularly drop naughty presents to me when I pretty much always get my maximum five presents received are potentially stopping me having a successful neighbour relationship with someone else!

I know I over-reacted earlier... Frustration from the work day just added fuel to the fire, haha.. I realize presents can very easily get hidden behind buildings and such! Sorry for blowing off too much steam here! And much appreciation to my neighbor, smohqy! All the neighbors!

I always try and drop presents in a clear space near the landing zone. However, they seem to be pretty difficult to aim. In one of my neighbour's towns I managed to make the same mistake twice, on different days, and dropped the present behind a building when I was aiming for the space in front.

I agree with the majority, hard to believe folks are intentionally 'hiding' presents. They only receive a benefit when the present is opened, so what would be the point?
When dropping a present on a friend's base, I have been adjusting the screen location to an area where the gift is more visible. My aim has improved, but it still isn't perfect and some cities are just packed with 'stuff', so the gifts still land behind a building sometimes.
I am not sweating the small stuff and enjoying the remainder of the Winter event. Thanks to all who have contributed to my enjoyment with presents! Much appreciated!

Merry Christmas to all our fellow Springfielders!

My brother and I did this in a competition with the Snake eggs. It's fun when you know you'll be looking. Like a digital Easter egg hunt.

One of my friends left a present in the water. I forgot how much that amused me from last Christmas. I approve. LOL.

and PSA, I put those 4 square shrubs in the back yards of all the houses in my Landing zone. That way the presents literally do not fit behind any house.

I've been logging in every chance I get, trying to get the efcot center.
Right now it looks like I have no chance, mostly due to only getting one bow from a lot of naughty neighbours.

Neighbours are kept so we can help each other through events like this........so if they can't help by being nice, I delete them. It's the only way I'll have even the tiniest chance of getting the efcot center.

I've been dropping my presents in spots that seem to be nice and open and even with that those buggers still tend to go behind houses and fences. I don't do it intentionally.

And like some others, I repay nice with nice. Maybe I'm naive but it costs me nothing to be nice so I do it every time.

    1. There's no benefit to dropping a present where it won't be found. With only 5 to give per day, it's a complete waste.

    2. To suspect people are doing it intentionally is just paranoia.

    3. I couldn't care less that there's been one present I've not been able to find for a week. These presents are not make or break items. I'm achieving all goals for the event so far.

    4. Delete people as j you see fit. It's your game. But there's no reason to get bent out of shape and claim what a victim you are of sabotage.

    5. Keep calm

    6. Tap on
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
