More problems adding friends?

I have 97 friends, but can't seem to add anyone. I submitted a friend request for someone here who was looking to hook up with other level 25 types. That request is still pending, but I then received an invite from them -- but "uh oh, something went wrong, try again later."
If anyone else wants to help me test this -- preferably another level 25 non-farmer -- hit me up.
