But i still dont get how ea fixed it. Ea didnt do a server, ingame or app update so... no idea maybe it was timed with something in the store that glitched it

Yes I was surprised as well, I was playing at that time and suddenly the opening screen simply never returned to the inventory screen. I thought there may have been an ingame update that I didn't see, but I've never had one that you hadn't confirmed within 5 seconds on this forum

It was exactly the same for me, when I didn't see any mention here I thought I was just doing something wrong until I received a PM from someone saying it was fixed for them too

Ha, that was my thought exactly. I also didn't want to post anything for fear of alerting EA if it was just my device.

I use multiple devices. As soon as the glitch stopped working for me on the first device, I took a look on this forum and when I didn't see any "update! " or "update? " threads, I thought something was wrong with the device.
Tried my second device and watched for an "update" to load as I opened the game, saw none, and was happy for a moment because I expected the glitch to still work. But it didn't. So LPN is right -- somehow they changed something without an update.
For those who are asking to be PM'd ... You may want to also keep an eye on a few other forums that may have more open discussions than this one does. I think Reddit does.
Another point -- I've often wondered why EA doesn't keep a closer eye on websites like Reddit than they do on this one. We know that EA knows about Reddit. It's been alluded to in the game dialogue. I get the feeling sometimes that the company only worries when it sees the stuff start to be mentioned on its own forum.
And I will NEVER understand why they left that old stackable handshake glitch unpatched for so long ... Discussion about that one was rampant on this forum for what seemed like months. Thread after thread. Especially the ability to get tiles. . I just don't get it.

Maybe it's because that one was just tiles, there was no way for EA to lose donuts from it so it was just easier put it on the long finger, although I wasn't around for the legendary "stackables" so I don't know. Every glitch I've participated in lost EA donuts in some way.

I still get stacked handshakes occasionally. Got 2 of them a few days ago.

But tapping those tiles paid out enormous amounts of XP, both to the visitor and the town owner. PER HANDSHAKE.
We could also set up:
Channel Six with Arnie Pye ($7,500 plus 2,100 XP) PER HANDSHAKE
Open Air Stage with Moleman ($1,320 plus 250xp) PER HANDSHAKE
Corn ($45,000 plus 9,000xp) PER HANDSHAKE
And the glitch ran pleny long enough for people to finish corn)
In theory, 100 neighbors could come to your town and tap three of those items, and you could go in at your leisure and collect ....as long as you made sure to leave the last handshake untapped on each of those buildings, the building remained available for tapping, day after day, after day.
Not only were we making millions and millions of dollars, but we were also loading up on XP. At least that's the way I remember it.
I can't understand why they waited so long to patch such a widely publicized glitch. And their sudden about-face on housefarming makes no sense after that. For me to make 100 collections on a blue house takes 800 hours (about 33 days) and pays out a total of $120,000 and 1,300xp For me to make 100 collections on Channel 6 during that glitch could be done every day, and i could make $750,000 and 210,000xp every day. From one building.
I did a forum search and see references to this as early as October, 2013 and up until late March, 2014.
If you do a google search on tapped out glitches, there were a few sites that made mention that for some of the big glitches that allowed people to go nuts and acquire huge amounts of items - they made mention that EA had discovered some of these accounts and disabled them.
Haven't heard mention of such a thing here, but if it were the case, it might be unwise to give an account of your spoils. Basically your telling the company - here I am, come and get me if you dare.

That's correct. This glitch wasn't new and mentioned elsewhere a while ago. Also correct, select accounts that abused this glitch were disabled. Not worth the risk IMO.

If it is server related. Default spawn position, they only need to fix server settings not the game i guess
Since this is an EA forum pms could be monitored too. A closed Facebook group that is invite only may be a good idea. It couldn't be any worse than accidentally pming someone on the forum that works for EA and would be less time consuming than trying to send out 100 pms. One of us could set it up and send out invitations via pm to members withe frequent posts, that regularly participate and give tips when they can.

But I'm glad it was an advantageous glitch for a lot of players. Any chance for cool free stuff is good!!!!!
