I'm very jealous if you're getting about 30 coins a day! Even with Burns' Casino jobs I don't think I'm getting that many. I can only assume-and hope-that something will be introduced later in the event that will help us with crafting. Crafting is always the hardest part, but I'm worried that it's contributing so majorly to a Prize Track.
Hmm.. I have 6 freemium characters hitting it every 4 hours. I can usually do 4 cycles, so thats 24 plus the random ones. Luckily I can check in ~every 4 hours.
For those of you that are a bit more confined, yeah.. I could see it getting tight
In that case, I must be getting about 30 a day then, because I have 9 characters going to Burns' Casino, and I tap them AT LEAST 4 times a day (I wake in the middle of the night for tapping Gamblers. Thanks for pointing out that simple Maths, I should have realised that!
So I have two questions of my own then, just confirmation for my own peace of mind:
1. Apart from leaving at least 8 (in case the Daily Challenge requires that) I should use the golden tokens now? And should I use a certain amount, ready for Act II and III.
2. What about crafting timing? Apart from the Chip crafting, which with bricks' help, I finally understand to wait on that, should I do them now? And what about the upgrade timing?
One of the daily challenges is to 'acquire a courtesy chip X 5' , which could take quite a few spins to get.
There are so many variables in this event! According to LPN's walkthrough, There is a 'pre act 2' phase where Cletus's Dice den may be built on the 3rd March, although act 2 doesn't start until 7th March. As yet we don't know what rewards you can get from the den.
In his crafting guide, it also shows that you can 'upgrade' crafting using any of the 4 crafting materials. The amounts for 1 upgrade tier are:
50 X keychain OR
40 X coasters OR
25 X martini OR
20 X show tickets
I know we're only a few days in but I just want to give a huge thank you shout out to the OP and all their math helpers. You guys are utterly awesome and are doing a sterling job on keeping us all up to date. Between that and LP's as always awesome walkthroughs you make this so much more enjoyable
Thank you to you both for those kind words, especially Newcastlenia (sorry Muhsterino, but you know I think you're great!), I didn't sleep well last night, and feel really quite rubbish, and when I saw your words when I woke up it made me feel better! I'm glad to very soon be included in the list of my own Maths Helpers, once Aidx checks over my Maths!
Muhsterino, I'll add those links to the front page as long as I can stay awake!

Getting those five crafting materials isn't too bad I find, I've had it for Curtesy Chips and Coasters, I think, and I was kinda able to go halfsies (to a point of course) between Gaming Moe's spins and tapping Gamblers.
So are you doing no crafting at all right now?
Hey guys, I'm AO (not AOF). I create and run the Event Strategy Threads.
Is it just me or does this seem impossible to get all the prizes? I check in every couple hours, but with the reset to 0 with every prize gained it seems extremely unlikely to get them all.
It is very difficult to predict if you can get the final prize since one major source of chips is the slots which are random, but if you look at how are you doing on a daily basis it is easier to see if you can do it or not. I haven't done my own calculations for my daily earnings but when I do I'll probably post it here so others can judge from my position if they can manage it too.
I was unable to begin playing the event until Wednesday evening as I was stuck in an airport with bad and very expensive wifi. I am now at 35800 tokens, but then, I am a premium player which helps of course. On the other hand, I have only been able to send my characters to Burn's casino three times a day as work has gotten in the way (yes, I am seriously considering quitting that very time-consuming activity called work).
Firstly, sorry to hear that you didn't sleep well, maybe you can have a short nap later in the day. Take care of yourself!
I think (not 100% sure!) that the courtesy chips only come from losing at Moe's casino. The other ones for crafting/upgrading come from tapping gamblers too. I have not done any crafting or upgrading so far. As you can use all 4 to upgrade, if you get a lot more of one type than the others, it would make sense to use those for upgrading. That is why I am currently waiting to see how many I get of each type.

Okay, thanks for the advice, I'm really lost with what to do with crafting this event. Do we know if the crafting is just for the Act, or the whole event? We thought it was the whole event last time out, and a number of us (myself included) lost out on a number items. Can you post here when you start crafting, how much material you have, and what you do with them?
I'd love a nap later, but I got a busy day! It's always a risk during events for me, because I set alarms for waking me up in the middle of the night to tap Gamblers, so I don't have to use too many gold tokens.

I'm sort of doing the same. I've crafted everything I can on level 1 so far, but holding out upgrading at the minute. Its doing no harm and I want to wait as long as possible to see the drop rate of the martini glasses and show tickets. The keychains are a slow going process so I doubt greatly I'll use any to upgrade, but then there's only the cowgirl sign left once you've upgraded to use them on so I may change tack later on. I'm hoarding the courtesy chips at the minute-im curious to see if they'll have any further use other than for getting 100 chips at some point. If not, they'll get ploughed into chips for bonuts!

You're more than welcome AO! Not everyone realises the effort that goes into these things sometimes-i wouldn't enjoy the game half as much if it wasn't for all the hard work people like you put in. Pat yourself on the back my friend, it's thoroughly deserved.
To me it looks like The tokens are going to run across all Acts
and
Different coloured chips will be one for each act as usual
My plan is to not use my tokens until the last day. I want to capture all the free chips from tapping and sending people to the casino and see how many I am short (if any) on the last day the difference will then be easily made up using the minimum tokens
Any remaining tokens can then continue into act 2 and 3. Maybe at the end we can do something more useful with the tokens like Donut rewards.
I've put on the front page some Maths that show some of the totals of chips you can get during Act I based on things like how often you tap Gamblers, how often you send people to Burns' Casino, and how many people you send to Burns' Casino. My maths also takes into account the chips you get from completing the Story Tasks and visiting friends.
I've also included some maths that will hopefully allow you to figure out your own totals, as I've included the minimum you get, i.e. Sending just one person to Burns' Casino, but if you are unable to or unwilling (and trust me, that's fine, today I'd totally be unwilling!) then please feel free to ask help with it, and I or somebody else will be able to help!
I must also add a disclaimer. It's been very hard to figure out the spawn rate of the Gamblers this event. I have figured things out based on how I conduct myself in my Springfield (which is how long it takes for Springfield to fill up) and even that has been anything but simple. I assumed at first it was 6 hours, as it normally is most events, however I was getting notifications long before my personally set alarm went off. To the best of my knowledge, I've found that my Springfield is filled after 5 hours, and it takes me about 10 mins to find all 60 Gamblers (which I'm fairly certain is the maximum), as opposed to 5 mins when I wait 6 hours.
All of which goes to say, I've tried my best in this area, but there's probably room for improvement. Sorry.

La Belle Frottage also gives tokens (110 every 4 hours, as far as I recall).

Hey guys, I'm AO (not AOF). I create and run the Event Strategy Threads.
In LPN's crafting guide, it shows that you can exchange courtesy chips for red OR blue OR green chips.
This is from the crafting guide thread:
Q: Do we know yet if these 3 levels of craftables will go away after Act 1? If so, I would hate to spend crafting currency trying to level up and then fall shy of having enough crafting currency to craft what I want before the end of the act...
LPN's response: they last for the whole event
Bonut prizes - once you have all the act prizes, bonuts will be awarded for every 8500 chips collected. (source - Simpsons wiki)
@ AO: Some Premium characters have jobs at Moe's - those you have already listed on the front page.
I've been logging in basically every hour when I'm awake and I'm at 36,650 chips and should be able to get millhouses costume some time later on tonight. I started the event update on Wednesday afternoon.

It was me talking about forced updates I think. I was asking if the update was forced yet, as I don't want to play the event on my B-Town. I now know that it's forced, so I'll stay off my B-Town for the time being.
I know some Premium characters have jobs at Burns' Casino (not Moe's-I thought I was the one half asleep today? :P), but apart from being there, they don't add any more than that. They don't give double payouts in this event. The poster was talking about how he'd been able to catch-up after joining the event late thanks to being Premium, and I was curious what this entailed, as apart from being there for Burns' Casino, and Le Belle building giving out event currency every four hours (still need clarification-is it 110 gold tokens, or do you mean 110 chips bette?), I don't know of any benefit to being Premium, and that would help stay on track, but not catch up.
Does that make any sense?? I dunno what I'm saying today, I'm so tired!!

Congratulations on doing so well!! Are you tapping Gamblers every hour then? Because otherwise there's no point logging in every hour right? How many Gamblers spawn in that time?? Because Gamblers Spawn Time has been an issue to find out this event, and you're information could be vital!!!

Thanks! and yes I've been clicking them every time I see them when I go on every hour. My main reason for logging in every hour is that I'm still leveling up so I do the 60 min tasks to collect the most cash. This is my first full event since I started playing, I signed up during the last act of the winter event so I missed out on all that stuff.
I'll have to keep track of how many gamblers I click every hour and I'll report back after maybe I do it for 3 different hours so we can see if there is a difference.
I've also been crafting anything I can when I earn the items and been making sure to visit friends to collect all those tokens as well. I've also used the casino coins every time I get any and I've done quite well on the slot machine.
Please don't get mad at me for asking this, but I've been in a whirlwind of good and bad stuff at our house for the past several days, and I'm trying to "catch up" ... There's something I'm not clear on.
I know how to get Player Cards. I know I need 6,660 to get to the Black Diamond tower thingie.
But how many Player Cards do I need to get so a little bar fills up so I feel like I'm getting somewhere?
I'm sure it's in this thread someplace, but I can't find it.

We would be able to get to those threads quicker too. Great job you are doing, AO!
