I'm kind of happy since i decided I won't be able to get Lucius anyway.
Keep hitting that slot machine. You'd be surprised how many tokens it pays out.
Indeed. I'll be unlocking the final act 1 prize later today and it's mainly due to the slot machine payouts which have been pretty big.
I've got all the available characters who can work at the casino so I get 10 tokens every four hours, plus the bonus tokens from tapping gamblers in my town which is usually 3-5 every four hours, so I'm spinning around 13-15 times on the slots every four hours and I usually get at least two 400 chip payouts.
The only thing I'm struggling with is getting enough key chains and coasters to level up the crafting to level 2. I've got four level up slots up to now but it's taking an age.
Hopefully, we'll get more upgrade items in the next act.
For the daily challenges, would it be worth it to skip and hope for an event currency reward? I just got one for 1,350 red chips for today. Previously I've been just going for donuts.
I'm not sure daily challenges for donuts are around right now, it may be that they are casino currency only, until the event ends. Like the old daily bonus switched to event currency only when an event was on.
They still contribute to the donut bonus for completing so many though

Hi, Daily challenges can pay donuts. Mine today was to tap 29 (I think) gamblers for 3 donuts.

Firstly, there is a link to the Burns' casino daily challenges on the front page, which DOES include donuts as prizes.
@Psdance: I can only tell you what I did when I got a challenge for 1350 red chips, then you will have to decide for yourself what to do!
Daily Challenge for 1350 chips - skipped
Changed to collect krustyland tickets - avoided going to krustyland that day.
Following day - received a new challenge for 1 donut, so I was able to skip the krustyland challenge and it gave me a challenge for 3 donuts :-)
I don't feel that the challenge for 1350 chips is particularly useful and I will swap if I get another one. However I did do one where I got gaming tokens and another one for martinis. Hope this helps you to make your mind up!
General consensus is that we should be crafting up to the current limit and then plug away at the level upgrade. Is there any particular advantage of doing this now? I haven't crafted a single thing, and I don't really see that I need to do any of that right away. I could do any of this in Act 2 or 3 as long as my prize track is under control - and the benefit of waiting would be to gain some additional clarity when the next act opens up.
What are your thoughts? Is there any urgency to craft or start leveling up?
I don't tend to be swayed by 'general consensus'
I haven't upgraded or crafted anything at all and don't intend to for a while. I will see what happens in the pre-act 2 on March 3rd and if it goes the way I think it will, then I won't be doing so until well into act 3. I am only concentrating on getting just enough red chips to finish the act 1 prizes.
I guess what we don't know is what happens to the crafting materials when we change acts. Will the key chains and coasters stop dropping completely? Or will it just be harder to get any one particular type of crafting material? If we can no longer get the first two types, then maybe we should be stockpiling those if we want to craft extras of the first tier prizes? I'm halfway to tier two and thinking I'll just hold onto everything I've got for right now.

This is true, the ratio of craft materials may shift with the next acts. However, I don't really see anything I'd want to stockpile in any bulk for this act.

Yeah, I guess I was thinking more of being able to craft more for the Players Club prizes. Not that those are spectacular, but just for the sake of completeness.

This is my concern. I will unlock the final prize today or tomorrow and my plan was to stock pile coins until act 2. Now I'm concerned about losing the ability to collect key chains and coasters to finish leveling up. Now I'm thinking I should spend coins until I have leveled up completely and then stock pile.
I started to watch my total chip counter today, slowly collecting and watching. I noticed that not all drops, from tapping gamblers, are adding. Not sure if anyone else noticed this. You may want to check in your own game, if you want. :?
Hoping it is just me and not widespread, but wanted to give people a heads's up.

Anyone notice the slots paying out more crafting materials today?
It paid items 10 times in a row earlier and I've been getting items regularly through out the day. At least 3-4 times per 10 spins.
Maybe just luck but hopefully EA loosened the odds.
Has anybody else noticed these three occurrences? Or are they just unlucky one-offs? If anybody else can provide information on these issues that would be great!
Also, with less than a week to go until Act II, I just wanted to make sure that everybody knew that Act II will be on a different thread, after requests by a number of people, as by the end of the Event, the thread becomes enormous!! I'll add links to previous Acts at the beginning of each new thread, and I'll repeat any important information from previous threads to new ones. So that we don't go too off-topic here, instead of posting here, PM about information that YOU want to see pass over into Act II's thread and beyond, in case I've overlooked something you want to stay!
Hey guys, I'm AO (not AOF). I create and run the Event Strategy Threads.
i just played 10 coins and got 3 sets of horseshoes in a row, hoping they increased the drop rate.
Do we know if the current crafting materials still drop in Act II when new materials are unlocked? Because if they don't, not only could that explain the as yet unproven increased drop-rate, it could force us to stop hoarding gold tokens and use them now for getting the crafting materials before it's too late.
Any thoughts?

Thank you for all the corrections though. Good to know donut challenges are still around - I don't have time to read every event post.

Sorry. Didn't mean it like that.
Was just confirming you can get the donuts.

Have you exceeded the 89 or so friend taps that give you chips? Or is it happening before that? That 89 or 90 corresponds to 30 friends.
