i just played 10 coins and got 3 sets of horseshoes in a row, hoping they increased the drop rate.
Do we know if the current crafting materials still drop in Act II when new materials are unlocked? Because if they don't, not only could that explain the as yet unproven increased drop-rate, it could force us to stop hoarding gold tokens and use them now for getting the crafting materials before it's too late.
Any thoughts?
I would guess (pure speculation as I've only reached the second tier towards level two crafting) that the current crafting materials will continue and that the new crafting materials will be added as the crafting levels are unlocked (independent of event acts). Otherwise we would be given crafting materials that could very well be useless. Whether the new crafting materials are added to those the gamblers drop or take the place of a portion of the keychains/coasters we currently get, I have no idea.
Maybe someone who's unlocked level two or three crafting can let us know if they're receiving martinis and/or tickets? And whether the keychains and coasters seem to be dropping at the same rate since unlocking higher crafting levels or they've slowed down?

Yeah, I suppose it's possible that all materials will still be available, but the "Act I" materials, so to speak, will be less common. Of course this shortfall might be what the other Gambling Dens are about.
Btw Becker, I know it's the wrong thread, but I couldn't find the right one again. For SH, in respect to getting the Hidden Multiplier-I've now got all my SH upgradable buildings out, and quite frankly it looks horrible. Do they all have to be in "Level 5 Mode" to register the increase for the Hidden Multiplier, or will the game recognise the building is fully upgraded, even though it doesn't show it visually??

The level the buildings are on (except the Private Island) doesn't matter, so the display shouldn't matter either. Also, feel free to store the Exclusive Resort - it doesn't have a multiplier associated with it. And the upgrade pieces for the mansions are irrelevant too.
I've incorporated Business Centres and Modern Mansions into my downtown area and displayed a few mansions and Valet Parkings in the heights. Otherwise, I built a resort out of Condos, town homes out of Classic Mansions, and used some Business Centres and Condos at level one as fancy homes. Most of my heights buildings are used in my town in one way or another. Also, Modern Mansions can be hidden behind level 3+ Valet Parking or Level 4+ Business Centres or other oversized buildings (like the Re-Neducation Centre). And most of them work well for hiding wailing walls (and/or tennis courts) so they look like cash yielding buildings. All-in-all, if you scatter them in various level skins around town they're not so bad (emphasis on lower level displays). Well, most of them aren't so bad. The Valet Parking is hideous and oversized no matter the level. Or you could bring them out and line them up on unused land (level 1 so they don't block your town) when you want the XP boost.
Did they turn the donuts off for friend visits? Four days worth of visiting and not a single donut!
They probably haven't, even now, with the increased way to get donuts, there'd probably be an uproar!! If I remember correctly however, I think we get a report that highly suggests the donut payout is smaller than usual during events.

Hey guys, I'm AO (not AOF). I create and run the Event Strategy Threads.
I've done a small update to the front page, at the bottom of my Event Maths, about Le Belle Frottage giving 110 chips every four hours. For now I've not included it in my Maths, so the final totals are still the same, but if somebody wants me to, I'll try and fit it in there somewhere. Otherwise I'll wait and add it in ready for Act II.

Couple of questions - forgive me if these have been addressed, as this is a long thread!
My progress: just finished Act 1 prizes and I'm 6 of 10 steps toward getting to craft level 2, so I still need craftables to upgrade. I'm at Players Club level 9.
-Does there seem to be a reason to hoard slot coins?
-Is there a reason to hoard chips - meaning NOT redeem offers that'd get me more chips between now and Act 2? I'm gonna buy Miss Springfield but if hoardiwill wait because I'll get a Players Club chip bonus.
I'm inclined to just plug ahead like I would normally - not sure if that's the way to go!

I'd hoard the slot coins. The craftables last through the whole event and this way you would get a great start on Act 2 prizes.

Thanks! Is that the only advantage you can think of, getting a head start on prizes?
Because I'm LEAST concerned about prizes. I got all the way through Act 1's prizes in 5 days - I didn't get the update until Wednesday - so I doubt that Acts 2 and 3 will be a major challenge in that regard.
I really would like to move ahead with getting to crafting level 2, though, which seems to mean I should use the casino coins, right?

I'm wanting to know this answer as well. I'm also at 6/10 to getting to level 2, and it seems to me that to get there I'm going to have to use those tokens.

I've finished Act 1 and will be hording my coins until March 3rd when Cletus's Dice Den is released. Bored with slots maybe I'll like the new game more.
Platinum Scratch-R is showing a cost of $7.99 and a countdown of 2+ days. What is the count down for? Is it free once every couple of days? Actually right now it says "available for" 2d 13h but know it is supposed to last longer than that according to the walk through by LP.
Update: Curiosity got the best of me. Had to try it. I see that the cost is $7.99 and you can only buy one every so often. Looks like every 2-3 days. After purchase it did not give me a timer. Just said to come back later.
Update: By the way. The payout was 3 clubs for 125 donuts. Average cost $.064 per donut. Better than spending $9.99 for 132 at a cost of $.076 per donut. But would much rather have a donut sale along with a discounted iTunes card.
Just wanted to check something for confirmation - if I have no particular desire to stockpile craftables, there's no particular need to push hard to level up? I seem to be in the minority in that I'm not rushing to level up... am I missing a hidden benefit to leveling up?
There are 2 benefits to levelling up crafting early that I can see - quicker access to the player club prizes and being able to craft unlimited non-unique items once you have reached level 3. That said, I still haven't done any crafting or levelling yet.
Here is a chart of crafting items I made in a slightly different format from LPN's guide:
I have split crafting into unique and unlimited items. Note that some level 2 items require keychains and coasters and some level 3 items require martinis.
*NOTE: sequence fountain 2 in the guide shows 20 martinis, in game it shows 10 martinis.
A few thoughts about the event so far and what info we have gathered, PROVIDED EA doesn't change anything:
Dont be disapointed if you safe and in act 2 your not getting blue chips...
If I was you I would craft first all and safe Then. ..
That's what I'm afraid of too. BUT...if we were only using the tokens for part 1 why would they be available to buy until the end of the event?
maybe because the whole event runs on the same tokens...
Also they are prizes 7,12,17 in the players club prize track.
Bonuts can be gained for 8500 chips in all 3 acts
Crafting will be available in all 3 acts
red chips (act 1) > green chips (act 2) > blue chips (act 3)
crafting tier upgrades:
50 Keychain OR
40 Coasters OR
25 Martinis OR (levelling with martini can only be done in acts 2 and 3)
20 tickets (levelling with show tickets can only be done in act 3)
Cletus dice den will be available in pre- act 2 on 3rd March
Act 2 starts 7th March
Homers house of cards will be available in pre-act 3 on 13th March
Act 3 starts 17th March
What we still have to find out:
Can we play all 3 games once we get to act 3?
How will the drops change from tapping gamblers in act 2?
Can we upgrade level 1 with martinis once we get to act 2?
Thanks Muhsterino - very comprehensive and informative! So it looks like I won't be in a huge rush to level up. I think that by the end I'll have the player club prizes and an assortment of the crafting items.
Like you I've yet to craft a single thing - what is your strategy going to be?
chris60119- I don't think it's any harder, I think it's just luck of the draw. I just did 15 spins-got 1875 chips, 6 key chains, and 8 coasters. Only one of the purple courtesy things. So that was a good round for me, but I've had others where it seemed like all my spins were no matches.
I'm 8/10 to level 2, with 38 coasters and 28 key chains. I'm gonna keep spinning for today, at least until I get one more bonus and to level 2.

Nope. I've picked up several doing friend visits since the event started, including 1 yesterday. Keep trying. They're out there.
