keep tokens for act 2?

Yeah I've also been wondering this - just unlocked Lucius today and have about 16 tokens. In my experience, it tends to be harder to unlock prizes as the Acts progress, so hoarding tokens for act 2 should make it easier to speed through the prize track.

On the other hand, the game does have a tendency to change event currency for different acts, so tokens might be replaced with something else in Act 2, although it seems unlikely.

I think I'm going to hoard, although it will slow down my ability to upgrade the crafting levels (currently on level 6), but I guess I won't know if that was the right decision until act 2 comes out.

I'm keeping, but I seem to be in the minority. Most are spending I think.

Actually, just had a quick look over in the FAQ and Guides forum, and the same question was asked. Someone had replied that he thought tokens would definitely carry over into act 2, as you can buy tokens with doughnuts for the next 25 days. Plus, I don't really see what else they could replace them with as we'll still need something to buy turns at Moe's etc.

I definitely will hoard, as I don't think I'd have unlocked all the prizes in time if it hadn't been for the glitch that made Cletus' Dice Den pay out 400 chips so regularly (I had about 10 in a row - they've patched the glitch now though)

I think it really depends per person. I am personally saving mine. When Act 2 starts, the red chips will then be green ones. So spending the tokens on Dice game or Slots, it will award green chips in Act 2. If you are spending them now, you will continue to get red chips. That's the difference. Do you want red chips (for donuts) or green chips (to get ahead) in Act 2?

The crafting currency will likely stall while you accumulate coins (as it's a solid way to get resources). So if you are trying to craft your prizes, you may continue on with red coins. It depends where you are at crafting wise, and if you want to get a jump on Act 2 if you should save or spend.

You see, I don't even think you have to decide on this. I'm going to get far ahead with green chips AND finish early and get the bonuts I would otherwise get this round. Win-win.

Not even sure yet, I may keep saving tokens for Act 3 and have a veritable "bonut ****"...

I got Lucius yesterday. Right now, I'm saving my tokens. But, I'm not averse to spending them if daily challenges warrant. Also, just before Act 2 drops I'll spend enough tokens to finish up the level of bonuts

Definitely agree with both of these strategies. One of the perks of keeping them around!

Both strategies seem good. It's really up to you on what you want to gamble for:

Saving tokens: head start in act 2, earlier start on bonuts
    Spending now: getting bonuts now

To figure out which is the best option, I'd need to know the spawn rate, currency amount dropped by gamblers and bonut amounts in the next two acts. Without that information who knows which option is best.

The information I do have is that the total prize amount in the next two acts is lower, so I'm betting that the amount of currency we get is lower and therefore spending now. Again, it's a gamble either way without knowing which one will payout.

The other thing to consider is not levelling up in crafting. I get most of my crafting currency from Moe's.

I have read that bonuts will be for 8500 in each act. Also, the acts are not the same number of days, so that is possibly why we need lower numbers of chips for acts 2 and 3.

Lets see if this post works - Ive been having issues with my forum account!

Once I unlocked Lucias I started saving tokens. I will still upgrade at the same rate, regardless if it's now or once act 2 starts, and the huge head start on act two chips is worth more to me than the chance of getting 3 bonuts. In theory I'd still get those bonuts at the end of act 3, assuming I stay ahead of both acts by getting the head start.

Now that I have reached Crafting Level 2 in my main town I will start saving the gold coins for Act 2 (unless I need them for the Daily Challenge). In my Race town I will be spending them as I want the doughnuts for Miss Springfield....only 32 more to go! It will be interesting to see if there is any difference at the end!

Good info, thanks. I'm going to keep spending then. Still don't know the amount that will drop from gamblers, but typically when the prize total amount lowers, the amount of currency dropped will be lower as well. That's my bet.

If I'm wrong, those hoarding will have a major payout in act 2 as it has the lowest prize total.

Yeah, thanks you all for the tips.. I suppose I can wait till the last moment, to see how far I will be from the bonuts.
Then, decide if it worth spending few coins, but keeping the most of them for a jump start in act two.. Seems a good strategy, considering that I don't have anything to craft till I upgrade to level 2...

Good tip too neighbourino! Forgot about that... I'll definitely hoard in the last bit if I don't have another shot at bonuts in this act.

As a side note, I think what we really need is "team hoarder" and "team spender" pics for our sigs

As I'm essentially maxed out in Crafting Level 2 until Act II begins (when I presume we begin earning Martini Glasses), I now mostly saving my tokens.
