The reason we don't have the desert update (maybe)

I think the fire update is a short easy mini-event to give us as a break but keep us engaged between the casino and the upcoming desert update. At least I hope so 8)

they already told us it was coming soon not coming NEXT. besides since thanksgiving 2015 it's been minievents with lots of cool stuff between events.

Yeah, the desert thing will the next major event with a unique splash screen. And it'll probably work like the snow theme used at Christmas.

Can't see it being errors stopping EA releasing the update, well it's never stopped them so far lol it just wasn't to be released next, it might not even be the next thing we get, all we know is that at some point in the future we will be getting some desert based decorations and ground cover.

They'll release it by summer (in the US) when it's really hot in the desert.

Or it's a bigger event/expansion and they need time to finish it, so have put out this relatively simple batch of content to give us something to do. If it had come out already, it would probably be something on a smaller scale that leaves everyone dissapointed...

Or it's actually just level 60, where we'll only get ... the cactus patch as a permanent item in the shop.

Nah, mini-events are the new lvl updates. EA just gave up on lvl updates because levels have become so absurdly high that new levels reach only a super small audience.

Based on their new model, mini events are sandwiched between full events so I disagree with you. And like LP said they didn't say Next. They said soon.

Also why should it be a problem? It's just a reskinned area on the map. Their biggest challenge would be how to make big chunks of land work with old devices.

Ummm why are we making such assumptions? Do you work for EA to say that as if it were fact? :?

Until we know why level 60 isn't a thing, I think it's best we don't pretend like we know exactly why they're not releasing it.
