What level are you on? LPN posts the 5 star requirements with each level walkthrough. For level 59 the tree hugging rating is 56,505. You'll need a lot out if you've started playing recently and haven't accumulated enough free ones through events.

Minnow pond improves your tree-hugging by 400. Bonsais are 200 each. Trees and shrubs can vary from 10-150 or so each.

    Thanks for the helpful link.
At the risk of embarrassment after playing this game for nearly 4 years, how do I find out how many points I currently have for each category then?

    Thanks again.

There is still no way to find out how many points you have, except of course when you hit the full star :)

As the stars are approximately like % completed, you could use that as a basis.

E.g. if you're on 3* (60%), your at somewhere between 33,903 - 39,553pts. When you tick over to a new * or 1/2* that should help narrow down where you're roughly at.

I struggled with the Tree Hugging rating since I started playing. It was the Casino event (or more correctly the Exotic Trees and Ficus Plants that finally pushed me up to the 5 star rating.

    Thanks, all for your input.
I'll just wait patiently and keep doing what I'm doing in hopes I get there one day.

Wadebear, I had the same game-plan and ended up with 16 exotic trees, but only 5 ficus plants.

Still no idea how close I am.
I've been stuck at 4.5 stars for over 6 months.

most people make a "forest area" others get there by decorating without noticing, you want to force yourself there?
what i did is i hid rabbit hedges behind buildings it should have a high enough impact that after placing 10 or 20 youll notice some sort of change.

That or Angel topiary but those are harder to hide.

Wanna make a small wooded area?
Make a park, thats what i started with, unfortunately even the late game trees arent to awesome so youre better off with other items, however it depends completely on your play style.

You can force it for a full 5 stars or you can decorate your way and slowly build to it.

I have this same problem with my gluttony rating. I have 2 Quik E Marts, 2Krusty burgers, several of those carts, and am a level 59 player. I don't know how to get that last .5 of the star.

You have almost no trees in your town, no wonder
Hedge 3D building helps though

Coffee Karts helped me, Sit-n-Rotate helps but its very expensive.

Id stick to karts and krusty burgers if i was you.

I had problems with tree-hugging and gluttony. I bought apple and orange trees to fix tree-hugging and I'm saving up for the Sit-n-Rotate building.

What strange problems to have in life...

I have a few forest areas (one big one secluding the entrance to the Stonecutter club), a few park areas, every type of vegetation possible.

Here's hoping the new event will have enough tree-hugging opportunities to get me there.
