Just moving this here as Mathumster mentioned it here as well

"Hi all, I have 2 towns and I noticed that in one of my towns clearing prospectors does not show who dropped them. Just curious if anyone else had experienced this. Not really a huge issue except that I would like to be able to reciprocate."

Math...just curious, did you have a task to collect hats when this happened to you?

I haven't gone deep enough yet but it seems that the only bonuts are the ones at the end of the general store phases. Will see later if there is any sign

Thanks LPN! If it is indeed verified that there are no Bonuts incentives at the end then this looks to be a relatively leisurely ride.

That's a good question; think I see where you're going. I'm pretty sure it was pick axes. I just went back in my town, I'm making hats now, and I was able to see the names of 2 neighbors who dropped prospectors.

Edit: just went back 2 minutes later, didn't change anything, but couldn't see the names now. :?:

Hmm ok, thank you Mathumster....Was just thinking maybe be it coincided with having a collection task for an event currency, but maybe not...hopefully they will figure it out and be able to fix it.

EDIT: it did it again. I was able to go to a friends town and come back and it was then showing the names of who dropped the prospector.

You get two things when handing in currency, first is the price of the day where you need to hand in currency a specific amount of times. It makes sense to use the small option here as you can finish faster that way. After that is done you can still hand in more currency and you'll continue to get clues. Clues count towards the "main" prices. The first of them is gummy Joe for whom you need 740 clues. So if you hand in more currency you won't get the daily prices but you'll be faster in getting the main prices. If you get more clues from handing in a small amount of currency often or more clues from handing in a big amount if of currency at once... I don't know but you can find that out easily yourself.

Is there a limit to the number of clues you can earn in one day from handing in picks and hats? The way there was in the Mono Rail event?

Some great information here guys, well done! Sorry I've been slow today updating this, I've had to tidy some things up ready to commit to this event and thread, although the information is never quite ready for the top page in the first few hours anyway.

So just to confirm what I've found, and some assumptions I've made that I'm hoping somebody can confirm:

From the General Store, you can choose one of two items to produce. Apu produces pickaxes, and Homer produces something else (is it Cowboy Hats? I've not done that one yet). Each job lasts four hours, and produces 64 of their producible items (pickaxes for Apu, Cowboy Hats for Homer), and 8 maps. Each item has a list of characters that can also produce the same item as Apu or Homer produces, and is also 64 of the corresponding item (Apu-Pickaxes, Homer-Cowboy Hats), and 8 maps that I'm now realising are probably the Clues. Can anybody confirm whether the list of characters are different under Apu and Homer? If somebody can produce a full list, that would be marvellous! :)

The production of Pickaxes and Cowboy Hats can be exchanged for Clues, a set amount of Clues each day can unlock certain items. For example, on Day 1, it was Cabbage Rock and the trussed-up horse. Can anybody confirm whether you can fall behind on this and still catch up, or if you don't get the item on the right day, that's it, it's lost?

You can also produce more Clues each day than is needed to unlock stuff like the Cabbage Rock, as these also go towards the Event Prize Track, of which the first prize is Gummy Joe. Has anybody worked out what the best tactic for this is yet? Us it better to stockpile and only do the required exchanges each day? Or some other tactic? (This is already getting too long!!)

Finally for now, the Bandits. As far as I can tell, they produce either 8 Hats or 16 Pickaxes (I'm guessing which Craze you've chosen decides this, and this is decided when the Bandit spawns), and 1 Clue, with an as yet undetermined chance to drop Prospectors, which you drop in Friend's Springfields. I'm assuming the spawn rate is the same as normal-a town fits 60 Bandits, and you spawn 1 every 5 minutes, 12 in an hour, and it takes 5 hours to fill to the max. Can anybody confirm this yet?

    Update on the Bandits
I just emptied my town, when I know it was full (I got a message saying it was full AND empty), and I got an extra 32 Clues..... Waaaaaa??????

In certain trades: The higher amount of pickaxes you trade for clues, the lower amount of pickaxes you'll pay per clue.

To save you nightmares about the words pickaxes and clues, I'll abbreviate those to P and C.

    192 P for 60 C goes for a 3.2:1 ratio
    320 P for 105 C goes for 3.05:1
    576 P for 210 C goes for 2.74:1

To give you an idea about what you'll save between the 192/60 and 576/210 trades:
    If the ratio of P:C for the 576/210 trade was as high as 3.2:1, it'd cost you 3.2 * 210 = 672 P for 210 C.
The 576P/210C trade is 672 - 576 = 96 P cheaper than simply making use of the lowest trade all the time.

However, a different trade just came up for me:
    640 P for 230 C goes for 2.78:1

This latest trade will give you a slightly more expensive P per C ratio than previous three deals.

Looks like when you want savings, you'll have to do the math.

So, it sounds like the strategy is the reverse of what I'm doing for the monorail. For this event, I'm thinking you want to turn large crates at the general store "daily" to get your items from the general store each day. Then towards the end of the act, or if you get way ahead turn in more than required daily to make sure you unlock all the prizes in the act.

So far, this is what my plan is!

thanks for all the info. No one mentioned and I don't understand the medals. I have one. Some of my friends have a lot more. Where do they come from and what do they do? You can only see them from the friends screen unless I'm missing something.

You get points by clearing and sending prospectors. It's just a measure of how good a friend you are, nothing important!

Is there a listing of what is required for each day or get that day's prize? Or is it random?

i.e. for the first few days there I think I needed to do two trades on one day and four trades the next day. So it seems like there will be days where I will want to do a bunch of small trades instead of turning in the largest crate. Or does that make no sense?

I'm still confused buy the whole daily prizes thing. I guess I'll see how quickly I'm racking up the pickaxes and hats before determining if I should first focus on getting the Act 1 prizes or if I should slow down and focus on getting the daily prizes.

The number by the medal shows your neighbors ranking on the Wild West Leaderboard.

I think the medals correlates to the number they are on your leaderboard - it least that how it looks to me.

So the more medals they have, the lower down they are on your leaderboard, the less medals the higher they are.

Just wondering if anyone has had any of the regular Daily Challenges that were NOT event related. During the Casino event it looked about 50/50 or so, but so far the two I have gotten/swapped out for were only event related.

If there are no bonuts at the end of the act, I'd be inclined to try to swap out event challenges for donut challenges since I"m pretty confident I can finish the event without the extra help. But are regular challenges even available any more?

Yes, sorry about that - I wasn't very clear. On the friends page, the numbers next to the medal are the rankings. First time they've done it like that, so it takes a bit to get used to.

I'm going for the small projects (or whatever there are called) I seem to be having no trouble keeping pace with the calendar this way so I'd rather hoard resources. Well have to see which strategy is the way to go.

Nice! We can get help several times a day to distribute to neighbors!
