We need Bonuts!

Prev13
Bonus donuts are just that a bonus not you right to get them. What EA chooses to do and the effect it has on getting donuts is entirely their choice/oversight, so stop complaining and be grateful that we get any at all.

I'm quite surprised of your answer. I just want to give an opportunity for people like me who feel like having back our previous chance to have donuts can voice our opinion. You are probably among those who kept writing donuts are too easy now we have too many etc... But I do not agree with it and thought it would be good for people who felt like me to also have a chance to voice our opinion. Yes I bought donuts too but Bonuts always makes me feel more inclined in buying more premium buildings /items so I will be more inclined in buying more donuts. Removing virtually all our chance to get donuts during this event due to glitches or designs is discouraging for me, probably not as much for those who can spend thousands of real money on the game. I hope people who feel like me can speak up too so EA won't feel like it is a consensus that every player finds its too easy to get donuts now. Thanks.

Is EA trying to remove our chance on getting donuts?

Yes, they must be! Sure, they added the Rail Yard (giving some of us 5 donuts a week) and they added Maggie's minigame (giving us around 3 donuts every few days), and they gave us Daily Challenges (giving us 1-6 donuts a day when Events aren't happening), and they just had an event in which many players got LOTS of bonuts, and they retained the occasional Sideshow You donuts, and the Daily Challenge bonus prize is either more donuts or a mystery box that might contain donuts. But if you ignore all that it's clear they're removing our chance on getting donuts!

We certainly will be "losing" donuts for this event, from the perspective of opportunity cost (I've gotten very little donuts from daily tasks due to all the event currency rewards). Not complaining or feeling a sense of entitlement, but like the OP I am certainly feeling the lack of donuts/bonuts this event.

There is no need of sarcasm. Maybe you guys are still getting donuts. For me, my friend visits won't give donuts from tapping bandits, my Maggie is glitched, Railyard is limited cause my characters are doing event jobs, daily challenges give event currency, sideshow you wasn't giving donuts, so tbh I haven't seen donuts almost since the event started (maybe only once for daily challenge reward before the mystery box) in the past 2 weeks. It is really good for you if you are still getting lots of donuts. But it is totally different for me. We just had an event where everyone had tons of Bonuts? I didn't have a lot. Was it a glitch I missed? Anyway, this is so strange. Sounds like I'm the only one not getting almost any donut since the event started? Everyone is still having tons of them? Then no wonder EA needs to nerf it. Thanks for your input. But if it is the contrary, please voice too so I know I'm not the only one who had almost no donuts for the past 2 weeks. Thanks

A year ago how many donuts were you getting each week?

Free donuts are a chance to get people to buy donuts. If you haven't noticed, there is very little you can buy with ingame cash these days and there is an event every week with a sea of pink in the store (usually at higher prices too). I know I am going to pass on those and put my ingame cash into donut farming.

Is EA trying to remove our chance on getting donuts? No bonuts in event (only once each act), no more donuts from friend visits clicking bandit (only with clicking buildings, which is not available in a normal playing neighbor), daily challenge giving event currency instead of donuts, etc... EA is essentially removing most chance in getting donuts. I'm semi premium but still appreciate every chance on getting donuts. The fact that it has no Bonuts makes the event a lot less attractive. It gives less incentive to even try to log on and click. With the other events even with the chance to Bonuts it means working hard for it and most people who play normally won't get too many neither, which means EA won't lose much. Why do they stop the mechanism? I know a few wrote about it is easy to get donuts blablabla. It is not. All the premium items and buildings still cost a lot. With no level update it is 10 million exp for 3 donuts for most people. With characters doing event jobs we can't do railway easily. The only way to get any donut is finding Maggie which is broken in many people's games including mine. (Sideshow you is virtually impossible in getting donuts). And most premium items cost now a ton (200 donuts Gil deal blink blink). EA please give us chance to try to get more bonuts again. I haven't seen a donut in a long time (almost 2 weeks since the event started) and I have to admit that I'm very disappointed with the event and turns me off from trying to purchase anything premium, or buying more donuts. Thanks.

I play another Game you want to know how much premium currency we get for free? NOTHING Be grateful with what they give you.

You are right Stinkbugger. Compared to the last year where I can get one donut a day on average with friends visits, I'm indeed getting less donuts during this event in the past 2 weeks. And it is amazing how much hostility it generated in this thread when asking EA not to nerf our chance on getting donuts. Items and buildings are costing more donuts lately so every donut is useful at least to me. Wouldn't it be nice if we continue to be able to get a bit of donuts by working for it? Why are all these people so offended of the idea of Bonuts? It will always be a mystery to me. It would be nice though if more people who wants more donuts can voice their opinion too, not only the ones who don't want donuts.

A year ago how many donuts were you getting each week?

Good point - almost none. 3-5 every three or so months from Sideshow you, only a few every other day from friends visits and then the three from leveling up. They have been considerably more generous over the past 4 or so months than they were a year ago.

Now here's the flip side - skins I bought during the Halloween and Christmas events when bonuts were scarce - zero. Skins and characters I bought during the past few events, including the mini events - ALL of them.

It's impulse spending 101 and there's a reason most businesses use sales, coupons, buy one get one frees, discounts, or loyalty awards (like when greenstamps were so popular) the more the consumer thinks they're getting, the more they're likely to spend.

I have 0 donuts and you offer me 400 donuts worth of new characters and skins where my options are to spend 20 bucks to get some or 50 bucks to get all and it's easier just to do completely without than just get half a set or spend more than I really should for a game I've already spent so much on.

But you give me 100 donuts and offer me 300 donuts worth of skins, then, yeah, I'm going to spend that 20 bucks to get them all and have 100 donuts left over for something else later. You get a 20 dollar sale instead of no sale.

Is EA more generous with donuts than they were a year ago? Yes. But they're not being as generous as they were the past two events and people are noticing.

And what we're talking about is the difference of all of 10 to 15 bonuts a round they're cutting. They're not going to make money but reducing the bonuts - the freemuim players will never pay, that's a non issue. The whales will always pay, that's also a non issue. But the real money doesn't come from either source, the real money comes from the mass of the players, like myself, who spend 30-50 dollars every month or two when we're happy. And, sorry, we're happier when we think we're getting something extra for the money we're spending.

Big picture in business, happy players spend more money than unhappy ones and bonuts tend to make more people happy than forum trolls telling them 'you get what the overlords give you and smile about it.'

While i understand what's OP trying to say i can't agree on everything he pointed out.
Yes daily challenges are mostly event prizes and switching the tasks so far gave me only money substitutes and friend visits didnt give me any donut. But maggie and rail yard are still working and easy enough to complete and we do get bonuts in this event, yes only 3 per act but they are there. So the complaint here is kinda invalid.

Don't we get enough free donuts from cleaning garbage, friend visits, daily challenges, Where's Maggie, and the Rail Yard? Joking aside, (I know not everybody has the Rail Yard and the Play-Doh factory), we have a lot more options to earn free donuts now. I'm guessing EA felt bonuts were pointless at this point, which was a pretty stupid move.

I wasn't trying to sarcastic, I'm actually agreeing that there's less donuts for this event than compared to no event at all. I am indeed missing the fact that I can usually reliably get donuts from the daily task but now most of them seem to be for what appears to be excessive event currency.

No hate to those clever enough to game the system, but perhaps event-based bonuts got (fingers-crossed, temporarily) canned in response to Monsarno-level exploits. They are probably (hopefully) just playing it safe.

On a seperate note: We need REBATES! I swear I'd take a deal for two donuts off Belle or Lurleen. As a Freemo, I just wanna feel like they cut me a deal.

My daily task for May 1st was "tap 20 bandits for 60 clues", I skipped that challenge, I was then awarded a challenge for Ned to power walk. Payout was 6 donuts, for a 1 hour task. EA has been extremely generous the past 3-4 months.

    Happy tapping my entitled peoples!

we were spoiled for quite a while with bonuts and some people grow to expect them. even with the relatively lesser amount we've been getting lately it still makes premiums less expensive. premiums are relatively inexpensive compared to other games. events are also giving us new buildings and skins for characters. i have no problem purchasing donuts for things i want

I think maybe this is a result of very active players being able to get a LOT of bonuts during the casino event - maybe they are giving us a bit of a "bonut break" to even things out. But the thing is - during the casino event, I bought more donuts than I ever have - to help me reach that magical number of donuts to buy a premium building. Because I was already halfway there because of all the bonuts. So I'm not so sure that it's nescesarily the best business strategy. That is, however, not my headache.

uhhh, the donut items this time are rustic. not as shiny as the vegas wives. so we're not supposed to buy them. that's what the old mine is saying to you at 180, it's saying, "There's not any gold here... until you pay for this with yours." also we're in the desert so you can't expect as many half-eaten discarded donuts to be found laying around as there are in the city.

it's the friends ones I'm missing. No real incentive to visit neighbours after you have collected all the event currency as it takes so long to do.
