I have two, the story for xrobotlove is less interesting but basically I love robots and I used to draw robots all over my notebooks in high school and what not. And it gives me great joy to google images the words "robot love" because its all cutesy drawings just like I used to draw. X is one of the letters of my synesthetic alphabet that makes me feel gooood. (Can't explain it, its a synesthete thing.)
The other I used to use is Charginasaur. Charginasaur is my nickname from the group of kids that were like family in my home town. Everyone had a nickname that was a vulgar variant to their name. My ex mike Ellis was d-y-k-e smellis. The fast food place Wendy's we called Blowjendy's, which is bl0wjob&wendys. My name is Charlotte, which everyone shortens to Char, then add -gina as in female anatomy without the "va". Chargina eventually grew to charginasaur, as in Ginasaur / Dinosaur. Older sites like YouTube are still charginasaur, but now I use xrobotlove exclusively. Neither are ever taken.
Once upon a time many moons ago, I was joining some website or another and needed to come up with a user nickname. I happened to have the tv on at the time, and the tv happened to be showing some cartoon full of yellow people. And then a little green guy with a funny name briefly appeared, and I thought, "Aha! That funny name is for me!"
I thought it was perfect for this site, as it's relevant but still fairly obscure....except not obscure enough as it was already taken. Doh! EA suggested adding numbers to the end, I whittled it down to 1 number because it's easier to remember and there it is.
I've been using the name and variations thereof for years and only one person ever asked if it was a Simpsons reference. Three people thought it had something to do with Australia.
Well first am are my initials and the 4 and 2 put together 42 the monty python answer to life and everything in the universe and well I'm immature so 69 haha.
That wasn't Monty Python's answer. It was Douglas Adams.
Anyone here old enough to remember the Marvin shell?
The first is generated one based on my name. I generally use it for family and personal business.
I have a preferred I'd for online fun and games. Because a couple of decades ago there two other people who had same user ID on different domains than me; and being relatives they had no problem determining who the wise guy was that they had coworkers asking about. Turns out there were 50 odd people using a variant of that on Origon. Won't they be shocked if they ever google it.
So I went with the ID I use for tech communications and consulting. And for whatever reason, Origon can't send me the confirmation request, so I can't post with it.
So I use a joke Id set up for when coworkers want to reach me outside of work, set up so I can abandon it if they ever get to annoying and won't take a hint.

Ha ha I saw it as well and thought it was Mike. First time seeing a duplicate avatar here.
They can be identical twins and will keep us on our toes.
