Grr! THESE UPDATES!

I'm sorry I'm not experiencing this condition.

Perhaps your device is becoming obsolete? Might be that time...

It sounds like you download a lot of media. You may have a problem with your device not always clearing it's cache folders and temporary folders. If those folders are not large enough to download AND UNZIP/EXTRACT the new content, then your system will deny it.

A good cleaner app could help, to run before opening the game update.

Also, make sure no other apps are running and competing for bandwidth and ram. Force stop background apps before you begin playing too.

Good luck!

Best guess without knowing about the device your using is the game and other stuff running in the background need more memory that you have available and therefore it's using storage space as virtual memory, clear some storage space by deleting unwanted apps, videos old music and the problem will most likely go away.

I lost room to play this on my 5s iPhone earlier this year. Now I play it solely on my iPad.

I have this problem on my Ipad when an update is released by Apple.

I have roughly 1.5GB free, however, when Apple releases an update, it auto downloads and is hidden. Once it is downloaded, I am asked if I want to update the Ipad, and until I do, that space is basically missing. I have seen it as large as 800MB (A rough guess based on how much storage was missing). When this is happening, I will get what appear to be updates to the game (they are NOT), however, not only will it appear to update, but the whole freaking game will reinstall.

I chalk this up to my device trying to manage my storage, and somehow removing it in order to make room. I have to believe you are experiencing something similar. There seems to be a point where your available space is not enough to support some operations, and the OS will make the space it needs, and for some reason, this game is something that the OS decides can go...

All I can recommend is paring your media/apps/etc down incrementally, and at some point you should stop seeing the constant reinstalling.

I've been having the same problem.

The game itself takes up 1.1 GB.
I have 1.3 GB available space (with game on device).
It won't update because I "don't have enough room."

Having the same problem both with the iPhone 5 and iPad 4gen. Twice this week, and never before then. Deleting the game and re-installing works, but it's a huge pain.

I was definitely trying to avoid the dreaded "delete and reinstall". I had to delete a lot stuff but I finally got it to download at 1.49gb.

I have the same issue from time to time. I am running TSTO on my Samsung S4 and just make sure I clear my cache before trying to update and moved other games to my SD card to make room.

    I'll add to this thread

I get that prompt all the time "Not enough room", when there is plenty of room. On my device, it seems to expect the full amount of space /free/ even though the game is already installed

So for example if the updated game is 600 MB and the currently installed game is 550 MB (needing 50 MB more), it seems to check for the full 600 MB available before installing, even though we're overwriting / keeping the first 550 MB. So, I always end up uninstalling, and re-installing, when an update comes. I don't have enough storage to keep the full game requirement free.

    Something annoying here but--... liveable.

Yup this is my device as well, and LP is right, it can't be moved.

I find that clearing my cache and making sure to move any recent photos to SD is enough to clear the way for these frequent downloads. From what I've read elsewhere it's particularly an issue with the current event. I'm hoping it won't be like this in the future.

I have the same thing since this wild west update. I seen that others have the same problem on Facebook.

I have Tapped out on my SD card. I've had two phones since playing and I've moved it on both. First was Alcatel fierce and new phone is Samsung Galaxy grand prime. Don't know why you all can't move it???

I've got Tapped Out stored on my SD card too. It seems only some files can be moved there and some stay on the internal memory but it frees up some space at least.
