Hostility on the forum

Prev13
Seeing way too many passive aggressive or just plain rude replies on a lot of topics lately. This is particularly noticeable when people respond to new members who perhaps haven't seen previous threads that cover their question.

Like come on.

Is it really worth being an a**hole?

Lets all be friends
Yes you are right we should all work together on a forum

A lot of said hostility is a matter of interpretation. For example, if I were to say this thread doesn't belong in the Game Discussion forum, I'm not being rude, just honest.

This thread doesn't belong in the Game Discussion forum.

I feel you but the OP's message is aimed AT people in Game Discussion. :-)

Let's post rude messages about whether or not a message about rudeness belongs in this forum.

    OP: I agree with you!

I do agree with the OP. To get pleasure and find humour from being hostile and actively unhelpful to complete strangers is just about the lowest of the low. My guideline is to look at someone's last 50 posts. There's one or two in here who have never posted anything helpful at all, just unfunny and stupid things. How I wish we could have an Ignore button so we never had to read their useless twaddle again.
My choice for all my Tapped Out news and troll-free friendly chat is the EA officially approved Tapped Out UK :)

The internet is full of miserable people who post negative things for the sake of doing it. I think the majority of the people here are good-natured and have sarcastic humor, after all, we are all Simpsons fans.

You want to see hate in the internet? Check out the imdb boards for Batman V Superman and Captain America Civil War. Now that is an awful waste of energy being spewed.

While there certainly are a few a-holes on here, I believe the mods do an excellent job on this forum. Also, sometimes interpretation can be the culprit. I recently wrote this to an advice column in my local newspaper, and somehow I ended up looking like the bad guy....

My letter was short and sweet, and here it is:

    Dear b*tch,

I have trouble making friends. What are YOU going to do about it?

I can be a bit passive and aggressive, as for newbies I try to answer there questions quickly before someone trolls em.

Problem is you'll see this kind of behavior in all forums, jerks will always be jerks and newbies, well sometimes they won't look for there questions in previous threads or post questions in an inappropriate location.

I haven't been new to forums in years so I understand the general gist of things but for new players? A little empathy goes a long way.

I hope you find people your comfortable talking too, and remember it's healthy to create dialogue to start simple discussions, it's not healthy to insult people to create pointless debates, and as for those jerks?
    Remember what Bender said:

Note : I don't think your a jerk. Bender Bending Rodriguez on the other hand.......
