It's gon be so lit when Scotland is it's own country AND a member of the EU.
I can't see Scotland being independent. Scotland voted to stay part of Britain last time. So why is Nicola Sturgeon hell bent on going against her people's wishes? I've got plenty of Scottish friends who say it's stupid to have another referendum and they hate her.

a lot can change in two years, hell even a day. your friends are clearly in minority, 56 out of the 59 seats in Scotland went to the SNP in last year's general election, and the Scottish clearly voted in their hordes to remain in the EU, but, like Northern Ireland, were dragged out with England and Wales.
and besides, September 2014's referendum was only split 45/55.
According to Google, one of the top searches in the U.K. right now is 'What is the EU?'
Pretty scary! People voting for something big yet don't know what they are even voting for - reminds me of America.

Yeah I saw that last night, ****?!
Maybe people should have to know what they're talking about before they're allowed to vote...

Am hearing 2020 for a referendum. If so what's the chance of her being in power and if she's not will whoever want to go a head with it. And you do know the the uk can just ignore it. We have the final say.
Let Scotland and NI do as they please, it's 2016! The British Empire is long gone, it's time to let countries do what they want and good luck to them! Forcing them to stay would NOT go down well. England will soon be the most hated nation if we're not careful!
My father in law is talking about buying a place in Scotland so we can flee I think he was drunk talking though...
Apparently there are lots of people regretting their decision. There is an online petition for a re-vote so I suggest everyone who wants to remain signs. It's already at 2 million.
Just want to say that as an American, I would have otherwise only have known about Brexit what the cable news shows here and a few political websites have to say. I really appreciate reading a thread from people I have a feel for who are expressing various opinions on a situation that affects them personally. Come November, I'm sure I'll be returning the favor.
I don't know why, but I find it shocking about the EU search. As far as the age I voters, I don't care, I just have always felt they should have to pass a simple Current Affairs test before each election or vote issue. After all, a recent survey here in the US indicated that 10% of our college students thought that Judge Judy was on our Supreme Court.

If I were a mod (on ANY forum! ), I'd be making serious plans to NOT be around on November 9th. No matter what happens in that election, The Day After is gonna be a holy mess.

If he was one of our choices in the upcoming election, he probably would be!

I'd laugh, except I'm the one who was surprised to find out that 'congress' was 'the house' and 'the senate'. I'd always thought they were three different bodies. Which explains my D+ in Civics.
As opposed to our son. A few weeks ago, we were wondering what happens if Hillary chooses a sitting Senator as her running mate and they win, leaving an empty Senate seat. We know that the state's governor appoints an interim senator, but didn't know whether "interim" meant "until the end of that first senator's term" (which could be up to six years) or "until the next election" (which would be in two years) Our son was sitting in the room with us, and said "Oh, that's in Clause 2 of the 17th Amendment of the Constitution. " And explained that it's vague, it's up to the individual state's legislature to decide, etc. I mean, maybe that's not impressive to anyone but us, but I have to wonder what else is bouncing around in his brain.
Somewhere, the Civics Class gods are laughing at me.
I was quite surprised that the turnout was so high for the referendum, 72.2%. The geneal election held in 2015 only had a turnout of 66.1%.
Well I suppose we will save a little bit of money not having to hold elections for MEP's Just as well we didn't join the single currency too.
